A restaurant with good Italian food and reasonable prices although the welcome and service should be even warm and personal for all clients and not only for the regular ones.

Fun place for dinner. Standard Italian food, but exceptional preparation. We had a terrific mushroom and pasta entree that had us all but licking our plates. Excellent desserts. Friendly staff. The Calabrian owner/chef also waits on tables and schmoozes the customers. We showed up without reservations one evening last week and were welcomed with no hassle. Would return in a... More

We had walked by this restaurant a few times going back to our hotel after walking Paris. We got cleaned up and headed back to eat. We were greeted so warmly. We had fun chatting with the other guests and staff. We had two wonder pasta dishes that came out so hot from the kitchen. A nice bruschetta to start... More

Ate here on the 2nd of 3 nights in Paris. Busy restaurant with a typical Italian menu. For me the portions were a bit too big but definitely value for money. Good atmosphere and we passed a very pleasant evening.

We've eaten a lot of excellent Italian food in Italy, and were delighted to find this wonderful spot around the block from our hotel in Paris. Our grilled vegetables were a delight, the pizza is on par with Neapolitan ones in Rome, and the veal was perfectly prepared. The owner picked a great bottle of red for us, and we... More

We were really tired and could not be bothered to go far to find a restaurant. Not expecting much but very surprised and pleased that we had such an great meal.

The food was fresh, tasty, and both the service and atmosphere were phenomenal. This is coming from a longtime New Yorker who is not easily impressed. We would come again in a heartbeat!

Neighborhood Italian spot, but the food is excellent, wine is good. The service is truly Italian not French, which is great.

La Giara is one of our "go to" places. It is open a bit earlier than other restaurants (7 PM vs 8 PM), a selling point for us. We've been going to this restaurant for 7-8 years and have never had a bad experience. The food is good, the service is good. Reasonable prices. The bruschetta appetizers are fabulous. Normally... The menu has a lot of items, with the bases well covered. The style is more country regional than haute cuisine. Portion sizes are ample without going to excess - if you don't want to leave too full, better skip an appetizer or a dessert. We started with bruschetta, served with ultra-fresh buffalo mozzarella, then moved into our main courses.... More
