Very small setup but very packed, we waited nearly 40 mins since 9pm all tired and hungry but it was worth the wait. The food, small tasting portions but oh my, what incredible delights to the palate, paired with excellent wine. The combination of tastes and flavours are just amazing, we ordered nearly everything on the menu, shared between 4... More

Fortunately my wife and I made reservations for lunch several weeks in advance. We ordered from the specials, and I had a couple of glasses of champaign which were very good, although perhaps a bit expensive. The service was top notch. Two fellows, very comfortable with English, took very good care of us and all the other diners. The food... More

Service was very friendly and flexible. The food was beyond expectations, really good, rich in flavor and at high quality. It actually felt felt like a Michelin restaurant but with cool and hip atmosphere. Strongly recommended.

We did the tasting menu and asked for pairing with it. It was great. We do tastings in Chicago occasionally and this was up there on our list of meals. The food was very well presented, tasty and interesting. You SHOULD have a reservation, it took us a while to get ours. It was a great place for a special... More

We had an amazing experience for dinner on a Friday night. The staff was amazing and so attentive. The food was thoughtful, tasty and beautiful. Every touch was perfection. The meal was so magical that I wondered if perhaps it might be disappointing to visit again and not have the same exact experience with the same dishes. However, I quickly... More

We were very lucky to land a reservation for 6 during our stay in Paris last week. So glad we were persistent in trying! The food was delicious and the wine pairings were all spot on! (Now that we are back in The States I wish we took notes on which wines were served though!) The whole staff was super... More

The place is small but beautiful inside - all ancient beams, plaster, stone and brick. The waitresses add your name to a waitlist for spots at small communal tables while encouraging you to begin trying wines at the tiny bar. The bartender was great fun. Although tables turned over quickly the waitress warned us we might want to eat at... More

For number of years on visits to Paris I have tried to secure a table at Frenchie without success but this time I managed to nail it and very glad I was too. The restaurant is situated in the little rue de Nil at the far end of the foodie rue Montorgueil and across the road from Frenchie's Wine Bar.... More

Had lunch at Frenchie on Rue du Nil, which we had read about for years. Wonderful last lunch in Paris. The staff was so friendly & we had seats at the prep area so could see our appetizers & desserts being assembled with such skill, care & pride. Executive Chef Austin Johnson (seen assembling the Foie Gras appetizer) is originally... More

We were only able to secure a 9 pm seating with our two young children, but was worth the later dining. Easily one of the best dining experiences I have had in years. The staff was super friendly and the food was divine. It is a set 5 course meal, we enjoyed the wine pairing as well. The setting is... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
