We organised little break in Paris just for two days to celebrate my mum's boyfriend birthday. We have been to The Basilica of the Sacred Heart and after we were just wondering around this beautiful place. I fell in love with Montmartre! Loved this magical neighbourhood! Absolutely stunning! We didn't want to eat in this overpriced restaurants for tourist, so... More

The 3 course menu gives you good value for the money. Very cosy atmosphere and kind and helpful staff, when you don't really understand the french on the menu card.

Lovely small restaurant with a great atmosphere and character - the food is excellent as well! Very reasonably priced (for Paris) - the fixed price 'menu of the day' is excellent quality and value - as is the house wine. We went twice for an evening meal. The seating is on benches and long tables but don't be put off... More

Reasonably priced for location and the food was spot on. Having been to Paris before I really wanted to take my wife for a fondue and browsed TripAdvisor for the best ones local to my hotel. Inside the restaurant it's full of character and feels very French. You wouldn't think that you are just minutes away from such a tourist... More

We happened to stop here while climbing up the MANY stairs to Montemart. We stopped for a drink, but ended up getting a dish to share. The quiche of the day was artichoke quiche...it came with a flaky crust and cheesy, sweet balsamic glaze on top. It was so amazingly good and well priced ($8 with tasty salad) that we... More

We just stumbled across this place as we were looking for lunch before we had to leave on the Eurostar. It was such a welcome change after the pedestrian restaurants we had sadly visited over the weekend. Just like stepping into an alpine lodge, with everything you would expect on the menu, friendly service, and wonderful food. Would be back... More

I went to the Taverne de Montmartre upon a suggestion of a friend, because of the "Old style" raclette (you can see it on pictures from other reviews here). As I was traveling solo, it was insane to order it (it is meant for a minimum of 2 people, which makes a lot of sense considering the size of the... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
