Well... there still is an impressive array of beers, mainly Belgian, but also from all over the world ; the atmosphere is pleasant, noisy, young. The waiters are disguised in "Apaches" (not the Native Americans, but the tough bays of early XXth century Paris). But that day we were quite dissapointed by one of the traditional fares of the place,... More

Would avoid this place. We ordered pizza and pasta. Whilst the pizza was decent, the pasta was disgusting. It was very dry and weird...like it had been heated up in a microwave or been sitting out all day. It definitely didn't taste fresh and we were actually worried we would become sick if we ate it. Thankfully the waitor took... More

We came here for the place's famous Moulles, but were a bit disappointed with our experience. The waiters' English level was bare basic, hence we had difficulties following their recommendations and tips. I would say that the beer selection and sports bar experience of La Gueuze is finer and more impressive than the food offered.

Went there accidentally and I loved the place; their burgers are just awesome, they serves a great variety of beer, cocktails and wine with affordable prices especially during happy hours when you get two drinks for the price of one. I also appreciated the atmosphere and the welcoming of the staff. Great place ;)

Had a wonderful meal here this afternoon, we ordered off the specials and normal menu, had a lovely bottle of red that the waiter recommended. Everyone there was very friendly and service was fast but we didn't feel rushed. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the menu was a little lacking in veggie food, what they did... More

Had a late lunch here. We chose this Belgian brasserie because it serves moules frites (mussels and fries), which my husband was craving. The mussels were delicious, as were the fries (we shared). I had a sandwich "Brooklyn," which was a baguette filled w/sliced turkey, tomato, lettuce, and pickle. It was surprisingly good, and more than I could finish. We... More

We liked the service, the food and the location. The waiters figured out we needed an English menu immediately and things got better from there. The Caesar Salad and Pizza were good and we would go back.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
