I was walking randomly from Shakespeare and Company and stopped by this place randomly. I chose this place as it seems there were quite a lot of people and thought it won't go wrong. I like that the service was not slow but the food is mediocre compared to the price.

Very nice atmosphere created by stylish furnitures and great customer service. We were served by a gentlemen who was basically serving the whole floor and managed to deliver a fantastic service! The food was delicious: I had tagliatelle with smoked salmon and my boyfriend duck with roasted potatoes, we also finishes with a chocolate cake that was as delicious as... More

We went to find somewhere for breakfast on our first morning in Paris. We came across this place offering a meal deal. I had croissant, hot chocolate and orange juice. I would have liked a more special hot chocolate as it tasted like a machine one that you can buy on the go. However the waiter was what made it!... More

The waiter was wonderful in assisting us with dining selections - pointing out that the portions were huge so we didn't over order (not often a place does that!). Food was delicious. Highly recommend.

This was near our hotel, so we went and were seated fairly quickly. The service was great, and the food was average. Our group had the sausage, burgers and the Chicken in Normandy sauce. It is near the theatre and so would be a good, quick stop for a bite.

We were looking for a place for a light meal and drink after attending the NYC Ballet performance. We came in close to closing so the service was a bit slow as it seemed they were focusing on side work rather than customers coming in. We ended up ordering salads. Two of the three salads were quite good - however... More

Husband and I stumbled in here on our first day in Paris. The servers were very friendly, spoke English and indulged me when I wanted to try and order in French. The Croque Monsieur and the French onion soup were delicious!

Came with a bunch of friends. A funny waiter Valerian did not mind speaking English. Had onion soup (excellent), some wine and finished off with an espresso (a rather big one I must admit). My daughter had some strawberry cake with amazing sauce and a friend had a salad. We loved it!

Stopped in, out of the rain, for a nice leisurely lunch. Ordered salade nicoise (average) and croque monsieur (good). Service was very pleasant. The decor is kitschy and dated but I love the windows all the way around the cafe giving you a view of the action outside. It's not an exceptional place, but it's a solid option.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
