Our first meal in Paris as we were exhausted from travels. We chose Chourchou because of the English-speaking server. The ambiance was nice as we sat on the street. Service was excellent and VERY friendly. We were a bit nervous, not speaking the language, but no issue here. The food was average and a tad pricey compared to US standards.... More

Just ate a meal here. The 14 euro combo is stated very small that's it's an extra 1.5euro nights and weekends. I got the falafel and it was most definitely the worst I had ever eaten. Completely not worth the money. The only reason for the 2 stars is my husband got the steak and somewhat enjoyed it for the... More

I had the starter and meal combo for 14 euro. The mozzarella salad with pesto dressing was very good. The roasted chicken came with a thyme gravy, seasoned potato wedges, and small salad. Excellent value. Ok staff. There was live entertainment when i was there at dinner (strings, keyboard and a man singing..not sure if he was a customer or... More

You get what you expect for 14 euro (starter+main or main+dessert) in the heart of paris. Waiters were rude at times with a half full restaurant. Only recommended if you are on a budget.

Me and my girlfriend have spent couple of days in Paris and this was one of our sweet spot. The service is nice and the food very tasty. Portions are abundant and the atmosphere is relaxed. Another plus for this restaurant is that they serve breakfast until quite late in the morning ... not usual apparently in Paris!

Ate here on Christmas Day and returned tonight for dinner (Pompidou center was open on Christmas). The poached egg in wine appetizer was outstanding as was the brownie dessert. The rest was good, not great, but the service was friendly and helpful. At dinner time we were entertained by a guitar and bass playing jazz softly.

A V O I D!!! On top of the fact this people served us a DISGUSTING piece of meat, God knows where from, they topped our bill with a bottle of wine we haven't had, just as a "bonus". Thank you for a very "delicious" first dinner in Paris Chouchou.

Nice atmosphere with live piano and cello music in the background. The food was so so good, we had a lot of couscous and meat, and couldn't finish it all. Very reasonable prices. The red wine from Bordeaux was delicious!

Good choice, great value. Lovely lasagne on set menu and half chicken. Steak was a little small but still tasty .

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
