This is an old, special little bar in Paris. I guess most of the customers are regular ones, providing a genuine and very friendly atmosphere. We had a great conversation with a few of them, really nice people that could tell all the stories about the bar and the neighborhood. It used to be a place where Edith Piaf was... More

Authentic local Bistrot with all the thrill that you're expect or not from the red light district back streets. Beer on drought, glass of vine & shoot of moonshine for a more than reasonable amount of money. 100% LOCAL...

If you want to experience real Paris go here. This was outside our door so we went in to check it out, everyone was really friendly and the crowd was younger full of energy. The staff is amazing and the couscous with some sort of stew was fantastic. Someone sketched me from across the room the third night we went... More

This is my favorite bar, filled with the most heteroclitic scene, hipsters, back-packers, fancy corporate dudes, and of course real Montmartrois locals. The music is great and is a family affair. Love them, love the place. Edith Piaf use to date Marcel Cerdan here, wich adds extra parisian spice and juicy to it.

Having enjoyed a few good drinks here last weekend the Ammad represents an old Paris cafe bar,the staff are welcoming and very pleasant, also the prices for Paris are probably the lowest in town,if you are in the area the Ammad is wel worth a visit.

This place is great. Perfect scene for Montmartre. The beer is cheap and the staff is wonderful. I learned from them that Edith Piaf once stayed in the hotel upstairs! Often in Montmartre you find places that are over priced and touristy. At Chez Ammad they are all locals and you get a real feel for life in Paris. Great... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
