It is a crowded cafe with tourists and Parisian. But it is a good place to visit for someone who has a romantic dinner on a Parisian cafe terrace. The steak was delicious, but the pasta was not very good, and the breakfast I had on my second visit was disappointing. The price was expensive, but the bread was too... More

Family party of 7 paused here while sightseeing. Cakes, onion soup, coke , tea and coffee served promptly. Viennese-style cakes delightful!

Le Carette offers a nice break on Place des Vosges. If possible, enjoy the view from the outdoor seating area. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, both in English and in French. The food may not be the highest quality that you'll run into in Paris, but it's certainly adequate and pleasant to eat.

It's a cold month of January in Paris... But it's the best time of the year to enjoy the city. The mass of tourists is still a few months away and the Place des Vosges recaptures it's discreet charm during these crisp cold days of January. Did I mention Paris has its semi annual sales event? Great time for shopping!... More

This Salon de thè is visually beautiful, a place to really relax and enjoy a light meal or an afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and we partook of the traditional 6th January ( 3 wise men) afternoon tea. Such a unique experience. Highly recommended when visiting the beautiful Place des Vosges.

I don't know how they make these eggs so amazing----maybe with a ton of butter? They really are the best I've ever had, so go there for breakfast, and maybe consider sharing an order of eggs with a friend. The eggs are so rich, I couldn't finish the entire plate....... and, you really do want to save room for the... More

Expect to wait in line. Worth it though after the first bite. A must visit for the typical Paris visit. Do not take photos of the food, you are there to enjoy it, not immortalize it...

Carette is a Must in Paris. Stop for breakfast of for a Tea in the afternoon and indulge in one of the fantastic desserts. Depends on season but one of the best is Tarte as Figue and Tarte au framboise.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
