Was there with my family for a quick brunch. Initially, the atmosphere and reception was friendly until we were seated and was served by this rude and absolute arrogant waiter which spoil our day. His approach was so rude and was shocked by such an attitude! Guess i should always stay away from all this touristic places! Save your money!... More

We only experienced the Cafe de Paix part of the hotel, for dinner. It was wonderful. Marvellous food and excellent service. However check the menu in advance - it's not cheap!

Loved the food and the decor was amazing. Definitely recommend that you go there at least once to experience true Parisian restaurant atmosphere. Value for money and the wine menu was great.

The cafe is located in the Intercontinental hotel, it has great interior, but you can also sit outside and watch people near the opera. I tasted only desert there and foie gras and it was delicious and worth the money spent there.

The Cafe de la Paix in the Grand Hotel is one of the most famous restaurants in Paris. My wife and I had dinner here many years ago when we visited Paris. A copy of their menu is still on our breakfast room wall. It would now cost more than 200 Euros to repeat that meal so we settled for... More

What you pay there is the location, not what you eat. 23€ a salad with tomato and a bad mozarella,22 € for a sad turquey club sandwich, add to that an unpolite waiter , who takes 20 mn to bring a piece of bread, and who , for the price gives you a politeness lesson...i won't come back and would... On our family visit to Paris our adult kids took us to the Cafe de la Paix. For us, the setting inside was beautiful, the waitstaff friendly and accommodating, the choices on the menu tantalizing and the overall experience very nice. The neighborhood is fascinating. A small warning however - the the prices are not for the faint of heart,... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
