The surroundings are beautiful, I will give them that but the service and the food were terrible! I wish I hadn't of bothered! It's definitely worth paying to go elsewhere! We had starters a main and desert, and both of us had wine, which came to €64.....but the food was cold tasteless and literally thrown at us! We arrived around... More

I was very disappointed in the quality of the food in this restaurant. After a long day of travel and walking was looking forward to a good meal. Nothing wrong with the service. I could not eat or cut my steak there was so much fat . Don't waste your money here

It's not just the food, which is expectedly good, it's not about the low prices, it's not even about the excellent service. It is about the experience eating in a centuries-old restaurant that respects its history. It's an attraction of Paris and it's worth the queue!

My wife and I had dinner here this past week. She had the a steak and I had the roasted chicken. The steak was way over cooked with limited flavor and the chicken was dry, tasted like it had been sitting a while and had no seasoning/flavor to it. Despite the restaurant being very large and mostly empty at the... More

Very sympathetic restaurant in the heart of Paris, good quality food and wine at reasonable prices. You can sit in the fin de siècle ambiente and will be served by very friendly waiters. Located about 100 meters away from the stop D at the musé Grevin of the Big Bus Tours, so it is very recommendable for a break at... More

Really good cheap price for high quality food. We had a three course meal and a bottle of wine and each paid €25. Wine was great (well all French wine is pretty great...) mains were amazing (loved the duck confit) and desserts were superb! Waiters are lovely and very helpful and there is fantastic ambience here. Would love to come... More

We arrived at around 7.30pm on a Tuesday night. I expected a line but we walked straight in and we're seated upstairs. Our waiter, noting we were English speakers offered us an English menu after initially providing us with a French one. We ordered the snails, duck foie gras and prawns for a starter and pig trotter, rib eye steak... More

What an experience! There is a queue but don't lose heart as it moves quickly. This is truly old Paris, a large place with antique napkin drawers of regular patrons in the past, round white glass fixtures, large mirrors. Tables small and close to each other and you share with others. But sharing is part of the fun - we... More

Traditional French cuisine that is good value for money, charming atmosphere and interior. Recommended for those visiting Paris and for those who want to avoid tourist traps.

Our Eiffel Tower tour guide recommended this restaurant. It was easy to get to on the metro. There was a fairly long line when we got there, but the wait was quick. When we left, it was after 10, so no line. Very streamlined business. After being seated, the waiter came right over and gave us menus in English. We... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
