Located in the hip, Canal St. Martin area of Paris, Chez Prune is a great option for anyone visiting. It's a very local spot and no one around us spoke English though our waiter was conversational and tried to help us with the menu as much as he could (also only in French). We had some amazing cafe creme and... More

I had lunch with friends in March. We ordered couscous and Thai beef with basil. I think their menu changes often though. It was excellent, the service was great too, very friendly and fast. Dessert was great too! The neighborhood is also fun: up and coming.

My partner and I visited here after it being recommended as a nice spot for lunch. Easy to find and a lovely location this is typically French little cafe. We arrived just 3pm and were told the kitchen was closed and we had just missed lunch but they prepared a small selection of cheese, saucisson and bread for us which... More

I used to eat there every friday (yes more time on friday :) a year ago when I was working not far from there. Small menu but tasty dishes with a glass of wine. Stop there if you are walking in this district :)

We were only here for an hour in the early evening, but the place had a great buzz about it, with something of the feel of a good English pub. Cocktails were very reasonably priced by Paris standards and service was friendly. You can eat in the evening but only things like cold meat platters, so it's more of a... More

We had walked up the Canal St Martin and unknown to us one of our party was aiming for Chez Prune. The "Prune" was a locals haunt the restaurant appeared run down or tired but it only added to the atmosphere. It was quite warm , the beers all local were chilled right and the food was excellent not overpriced... More

We stopped for lunch on our first day in Paris and really enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Small menu but delicious food as we had a pasta and a salad. Service is cool and friendly. Great place for locals but tourists are welcome if they try to fit in.

Went here for a drink in the sunshine with my partner. There were no tables outside so we sat inside and placed our order. We then noticed someone leaving a table outside so dashed out to sit down. Then had the (what I assume is) the bar manager come straight over and ask if we were English and that it... More

We've come here for years for a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon. We decided to have lunch here today, and it was good, fresh food. It looks like the menu changes daily, which is a good sign. I had a simple pasta with cheese and vegetables. The staff is typical Parisian, which means... More

The atmosphere is reasonable but the staff are incredibly rude and disrespectful. I've never been to a bar with such rude staff who have no respect for the customer and glare at you like you've asked them to kill a puppy. Will not be returning.
