We heard great things about this busy little restaurant. The service and rustic atmosphere were great, sharing our table with another couple we didn't know was fun, escargot were fantastic but the main course and dessert were fine but only fair. There are so many outstanding restaurants in Paris, we felt the hype around this one is what keeps it going.... First of all you will have to book. either by phone or facebook or something. You will need to do it in french as they ignored our first request in English. Secondly, if you do book ask for a table upstairs where all the visual excitement is. Thirdly, the kitchen is basically a fire at the back of the restaurant... More

Fun and very good Marais Steak house. But... Unfortunately, We are pretty sure that bartender/server stole our cell phone off of the bar while creating a crashing glass diversion. Of course we can't prove it but highly likely. My guess is the bartender/server hates Americans. As customers we got a sense of his disdain. Watch out for your stuff here.

This was our last meal in Paris. They don't do fancy fussy food. The steak is just cooked and seasoned to perfection. We lucked out and got a table in the front so we had an excellent view of the city. They have a lower level dinning room that I would try to avoid as its dark and a bit... More

Looked charming and was. Got there just after 7PM on Sunday and thought there would be no space for us but nice surprise to be led downstairs which was pretty cool. By 7:30 the place was very busy. Cosy, environment, food very good although plain, cooked very well and service was swift. Enjoyed the meal because they cooked my t-bone... More

Having read about Chez Robert Et Louise in both Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor the reviews set a benchmark for hearty French food and a rustic atmosphere We weren't disappointed the Foie Gras was outstanding with a brilliant bottle of fruity red, followed by an awesome rib eye and roasted potatoes with some Dijon mustard We loved it so much... We really enjoyed our dinner here. Fantastic food and great company if you sit at the bar and speak with the owners like we did. We had such a fantastic time! Book ahead, as we saw many get turned away without a reservation.

The food here was absolutely delicious - cooked in front of you on an open fire. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is lovely.

No trip to Paris without a dinner chez Robert et Louise, this is my slogan for many, many years! Seeing the open fireplace with all the steaks, sausages and cotes-de-boeuf grilling at the end of the small dinging room says it all! The only person missing is the Obelix chewing on a big steak! The goose liver as starter is... More

I went with a friend who is a local and who recommended this place highly. The food was absolutely delicious! Specially the meats!!!! I would return in a heart beat. Very quaint restaurant. Not sure they take reservations but it is worth waiting for.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
