Popped in here without a booking and was seated upstairs, the meal was perfect and very tasty, the staff were friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed this place and they were flexible. There were initially 12 of us and I called to add another 5 and they were absolutely fine with that. The waitress was charming. It's primarily a place for meat eaters and it seemed as though asparagus was in season because that came with everything (or almost). Good selection of win and... More

Value for money I guess. Not for outsiders more of a local dive bar. Not thrilled with the experience or the food but serves the purpose for a Saturday night where everywhere else is packed!

If you are in the mood for lamb, this is the place to go. Food is excellent, the ambiance kind of uptight but worth it. They have specialties according to the season, homemade with talent that are amazing. The wine list is pretty nice, and to end in a sublime way, try 'le caveau à Armagnac', it's just fantastic. Bon... More

I don't know, but the quality of food leaves much to be desired. The place is huge, and it's apparently hugely popular, but what we ate for a rather pricey menu was not a great level, IMHO.

Been here 3 times so far , discovered as we live near by and waited fr the right moment. We got married and our friends wanted to cntinue t celebrate and their menu seems to be meant for such occassions. We were taken to this mid-level French restaurant by our kind Parisian relative, who is a regular patron. He wanted us to experience an authentic French dinner, and had made reservations (table upstairs). Our waiter spoke English, and we ordered a 3 course meal, with wine. The place was pretty crowded when we went (Friday night). My wife is a... More

Duck that melts in your mouth (not an easy task). The quality of the ingredients was so good that even a boiled potato with it's skin on was the best potato I have ever had. You could just feel the health radiating from the food and yet it was classic, rustic french cuisine. no diet fads here.

We were staying in the area for 4 days and were attracted by the menu. Service was pleasant and the food was passable but was not the best we had by any means. The wine list was a rip off. Ordinary reasonable French wine at higher prices than we would pay in the UK. Total bill was 50% more than... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
