Don’t think of eating at La Maison du Jardin if you’re celeb-spotting, want to risk premature hearing loss from deafening surround-sound, or be treated to spumas, arrays of colourful micro-herbs or vegetable matter foraged from the streets of Paris’ 6th arrondissment. Actually, don’t even think of attempting to walk in and get a table. We tried that, and so did... More

A very elegant place for lunch. I enjoyed the salade de moules, cocotte de légumes au pistou, and especially the crême brulée à lq noisette. With a nice Brouilly.

This small restaurant served delicious food. Staff was friendly and service was efficient. Price was reasonable. For dinner, you can choose 2 courses or 3 courses. We opted for 2 courses and we paid 63 Euro for 2 persons. For the main course, we had the grilled fish and the lamb pastilla. Both dishes were tasty. The lamb pastilla was... More

This restaurant is fairly unassuming, looking a bit like a brasserie inside with red bench seats and mirrors at eye level all around, but smaller. It is rated by the Michelin guide, and it did not disappoint. The food tastes good, the service very correct, and the pricing very reasonable relative to the quality. It seems quite local, not the... We were impressed with the standard of cooking in this restaurant. The menu is small and they have a couple of interesting and unusual dishes on the menu which makes a refreshing change. (So many restaurants in Paris have the same dishes on offer). There is also a blackboard with specials. Service was very friendly and it's cosy and nice... More

This was our third time here and it's still a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Everything was absolutely delicious and the wait staff were helpful and friendly. There are only set price menus but there are several choices for each course and it's very reasonably priced. We will definitely return here.

We all loved our dinner at this cozy, welcoming restaurant. The service was excellent and very accommodating. My fish was succulent and I had to hold myself back from ordering one more ile flottante, which was superb! Would definitely come back!!

The specialty of the house is the slow roasted lamb cooked in filo pastry. It is served like a small pie on roasted, deliciously flavoured eggplant. Two courses around Euro 30 and three courses around Euro 35. Excellent value. You will need to book. I've been coming here for about 5 years and never seen an empty seat. The tourists... More

We typically trust reviews on TripAdvisor. However, I have to be honest - we were a bit disappointed with La Maison du Jardin. The staff was very nice and accommodating of our limited French vocabulary. We did appreciate the English menu also. The starters were very good, duck pate and pea soup. Unfortunately the entrees were a bit disappointing. They... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
