Definitively, the best fish restaurant i've ever been; it is a typical french crustacean, seafood and fish restaurant, so nothing to compare with a japanese one. The best product quality you can ever find anywhere, and everything is about this quality and the cooking of fish. It's not an inexpensive restaurant but can't be when you want this level of... Fish with excellent quality in a classic ambiance. Seating possibility both at table or "comptoire". We had oysters very good, a delicious pan fried calamari, and a huge sole. We didn't ask for any vegetables or rice which was served anyway and billed to us 15€ per person. Wine and spirits are overcharged!

The only reason I'm giving this review an average rating is due to the freshness of the seafood. We arrived for lunch and were offered the two worst seats in the restaurant. We took the one furthest from the front door and I spent the lunch looking at the back door of the kitchen. Oysters were great (but no artistry... More

Yes, the interior design is very old school rather than modern or design. Yes, the clientele is older rather than young. Yes, the prices are sky high. But, you get what you pay for. You won't find better seafood. The garlic fried squid appetizer is the best I have ever had. The sole is delicious The desserts are made by... More

This restaurant is famous for its sea food, but they make the best omelette I've ever had too. Nice upscale restaurant for a special occasion.

One of the very best fish restaurants in Paris, authentic old, French style. This is not a tourist place and the guest are almost all French. If you speak a little French go there, you will not be disappointed! Especially 'les fruit de mere' is really good and fresh!

This is a restaurant I have been coming to for the last twenty-five years at least. It has no equal in a country of excellent fish restaurants. Its closest runner-up was the now-diffunct Le Divellec, which passed into the hands of a low-grade chain of restaurants. Le Duc soars in the simple, tasteful way it handles fish and coquilliage, never... More

Was invited by a long standing client of this place, to an excellent lunch of great fish dishes especially their raw fish. Nice old place, an institution amongst those in the know in Paris.

Our first night in Paris, we decided to have dinner close to our Airbnb apartment. We each ordered something different and everything was delicious! The host and waiters were as nice as they could be. I'm not sure where the idea that French people are rude to Americans because we did not experience that at all anywhere in France and... More

I worked in the area and I always wondered why they were always fancy cars waiting outside this place. First of all, it's a super Parisian place, small venue, tables next to each other and just OK service. The food itself is actually quite good. My favorites were the Tuna as entree and the Sole Meunière. The desserts need definitely... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
