Le Hangar was recommended as a cheap eat (or at least, one euro sign) in an old Time Out guide. It wasn't as cheap as expected, but this hidden away restaurant has a family-run feel and the food was great. The friendly waitress recommended that we try the lentil soup with foie gras, which we (somewhat reluctantly) agreed to and... More

Le Hangar is small and out of the way with no outdoor seating. And we ended up at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. Despite all this, the service and food were fantastic, we had the green bean salad, a soup, and the beef stroganoff. All were incredible in their own right. But those potatoes that are with... More

You won't stumble on this place by chance as it sits in a cul de sac off an out of the way street. Having said that, it is worth finding. We had lunch there. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is on the basic side and quite delicious. I researched a number of restaurants for our trip to... More

Excellently prepared food with exceptional service. Both my rabbit & my wife's scallops were cooked to perfection. The staff was accommodating and very attentive, as we arrived w/o reservations and the place was packed as our time passed with those whom had booked.

I had eaten in this restaurant probably about six or seven years ago. I remember finding the restaurant was a challenge, but I absolutely loved the place. The food was and still is excellent. The service here on both occasions was extremely friendly and accommodating. My French is really not good, but I always want a chance to practice. A lot... More

Unsophisticated but good food, not too expensive thanks to the cheap house wine. Friendly people and nice setting. Probably a nice stop after visiting the Pompidou center going to the A Frank garden.

It is a nice restaurant, quiet location, it is possible to have dinner outside on the terrace. The dishes are maybe to simple, lack a fantasy, but of good quality. The portions are a bit too small and the prices are a bit too high.

We arrived early w/o a reservation & were promptly seated. We wanted a table away from the door since it was cold. It took a while for the server to warm up to us. Although we were amongst the 1st seated, we were the last to be served, but no worries we weren't in a rush. I understand them taking... More

Le Hangar is close to our home, so my wife suggested a dinner there after work one friday night. Much to our dismay, the food was subpar compared to what we usually find in Paris, while the prices were high. Starters were good, but the main courses were just... disappointing. Very bland risotto, and a beef stroganoff that's not as... More

We ate at Le Hanger twice during our stay in Paris and were not disappointed. The service and food is consistently good. It reflects typical French bistro food. The staff were incredibly helpful with the food and wine. Just a lovely low key experience.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
