The bartender from a nearby cocktail lounge recommended this place to us since we were starving and it was already 2.00am on tuesday night. Was so happy to find this place, the ambience is crazy, all types of people in this place, drunk, couple, "businessmen" haha and everything in between. We ended up getting an entrecote of course and it... More

Pavement table? Check. Street lamp? Check. Umbrellas & Trees. Check. City vista? Check. Amazing menu? Check. Yep a perfect Parisienne restaurant. The best places are right under your nose! I have walked passed this very Parisienne restaurant so many times. The red umbrellas and green leaves of the shading trees blended together disguising the classic cafe beneath. The menu was... We very much enjoyed our meal (cuisse de canard, oulet roti, mi-cuit chocolat). The service was extremely friendly, a good place to have a simple but very tasty meal. We would go there again.

Relaxed and cozy place. Not at all classic, it seems a blend of pub and bistrot. Quite good service and varied menu. Great onion soup.

One for the night owls. This traditional very very French restaurant is open all night. We had good oysters and other traditional fares to remember. They also have the almost forgotten practice of "vin a la ficelle": they bring a bottle of wine and only pay for the amount you drink. The wines are excellent by the way. The owner... More

Was a national holiday and looking for a place to eat at night with my girls. Walked around and noticed that there were actually people eating at Le Tambour (Unlike all the restaurants around the street that all looked pretty empty) so we decided to stop there to grab a bite to eat. The food was decent. My girlfriends had... More

Just had dinner last monday with some friends and my wife. Nice staff, excellent onion soup, not bad trotters, in the end good value for money option near chatelet-les halles!

We were 7 adults looking for a place to have dinner, fairly early in the evening, on a weekday. We went into Le Tambour. The host at Le Tambour insisted on putting 7 of us adults at a table, in the back, that was set rather tightly for 6 people. Keep in mind, it was early in the evening and... More

Had a quick lunch there and it was quite good. although asked for a medium rare steak and it came almost well done. The burger as well we asked for a medium and it was well done. Tartare was great. Everything was fresh and neatly presented. Price decent and over all a pleasure.

Thank Marina B

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
