We were a group of 12 and were fortunate to be sat downstairs in their "private" room. (Maybe to keep the rowdy English away from there normal diners upstairs) They provide a set menu of 4/5 courses. Charcuterie on the table to start, followed by a blue cheese and prune starter, a fantastic broccoli soup and pork loin in a... More

Excellent choice for a romantic dinner. Price was very reasonable for not fine dining but close to it. Bottle of wine cost as much as dinner but was very good and complimented dinner well. Menu is unique in that you don't chose your meal. There is a set menu each night and that is what you get. Was a little... More

Les Papilles is a bistro that serves a set meal at dinner, based on what the chef sources fresh that day. To us, this was a win-win, as we didn't need to decide on what to order, and we experienced an excellent meal! The cost was 38 Euro per person, which included a full meal, excluding wine. As the bistro... More

Les Papilles offers the highest quality meal with a warmth and casualness. It is a small space so reservations are strongly recommended. Meals are fixed price and meat heavy; therefore, it is not a place for vegetarians. The food is perfectly prepared and the portions very large. Come with a big appetite and let yourself accept whatever indulgence the chef... More

My daughter and I had an amazing meal here. This Bistro has one Prix Fixe menu for the evening. We started with a Pumpkin Chestnut soup which was absolutely delicious. Our main course was a filet mignon with fresh vegetables au jus, wonderfully flavored with fresh thyme and garlic served with a creamy Parmesan polenta. It was excellent. Cheese course... More

Charming little bistro with very friendly owner! Menu is a surprise, which is a nice idea. Only wine can be chosen! Food was really good, but not the most original we have had in Paris! Waitress was running around a bit nervous and coughing a lot! Dress lightly as the place feels like a little oven! Also quite expensive, count... More

Visit this wonderful little restaurant with my husband. We hade a great set menu, everything tasted so good!! The only little remark I can make is that we were sitting with our empty plates (after finishing a meal) a little to long. Food is really worth its price but the wines are quite pricy. I will definitely go back next... More

Saint Germain is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris. Great cafes and shopping. Les Papilles epitomizes the cafe scene in this area. The menu was "Henry Ford Style"- I.e you could get anything you want as long as it was soup, chicken, and pudding. I say this tongue and cheek. They only serve 3 course meals with one choice.... We really enjoyed our day menu here in this charming bistrot! We had flavourful mushroom soup, tender juicy magret canard, perfect pairing of dark fruit and blue cheese then ended with clementine panna cotta with caramel foam. The food is absolutely too rate and well done to the chefs! Highly recommend.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
