We made several visits to this small place which is one of some very good options on Ile Saint Louis near our hotel. As one would expect, tables are small and closely spaced and service is at a deliberate French pace. The wine list is varied and reasonable (one evening I had a bottle of Vendange Tardive after the meal)... More

There were three of us and we were the first to arrive. This small place quickly filled up and in an hour people were turned away. We all ordered the special, white fish with really good vegetables in a tasty broth. The baba rum for dessert was especially good. There was only one waiter valiantly working to take everyone's order... More

A small, rather cosy restaurant on the island of Ile St Louis. In the centre of the city, yet relaxed and away from the crowds. Service OK. The meals very well prepared. I had a roasted veal that was really excellent. Wine list somewhat sparse.

We stayed at the Hotel Saint Louis and they recommended this restaurant. A small restaurant with tables on both walls. The food was very fresh and limited menu but while heavy on vegetables it had very nice options for the main course. The service was very good. I would note that there happened to be three other American couples in... More

Had a wonderful meal of Leeks and Lemon with Cod, husband had the Shoulder of Lamb. Every thing was cooked to perfection. Red berry with strawberry sorbet for desert. This is a must for dining in Paris.

Their produce is mostly supplied from a single source. The menu lists the principal vegetables and, in smaller print and almost as an afterthought, the meat or fish. Each course was excellent. Flavors were nicely composed.

A restaurant with mixed reviews but our experience was very memorable. When a venue ticks all the boxes they deserve full marks and recognition. We visited in 2014 from Australia and had a wonderful night out. On this Occassion the food again was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was extremely friendly, attentive and well versed on the menu. Being... More

Vegetables are the highlight on the plate! Being a vegetarian, this was a welcomed menu especially when most restaurants in Paris do not offer vegetarian options. Food was ok. Not horrible, but not the best we've ever had. Service was very attentive and friendly. Extremely bright in restaurant- they need to turn down the pot lights to increase the ambience.

This place stands out in a street which is full of fairly standard French bistros. The concept here is veggies first, meat second - all the dishes tout the vegetables first with the meat as the side dish. The staff were extremely friendly despite being very busy - probably the most genuinely happy staff I've seen in a french restaurant.... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
