Had fresh croissant with coffee in this typical French cafe. Probably the best croissant I had in my whole trip. We couldn't try anything else since we were bit early and the restaurant was not open yet for meals.

This is a great cafe for a weekend brunch, sit outside and enjoy what passes by in south Pigaille. The service is great and friendly and the food is good.

Went for early dinner one hot July evening and asked for a table - "will you be eating?" asks the waitress - of course we will... However we were tempted by the tapas and when ordering, the waitress crossly replied that we would only be allowed tapas if we ordered a main course as well - we hastily promised to... More

If you are feeling a bit weary after walking around all day in Paris this place is a lovely option. It is little bit out of the way but its set up is worth the walk. The food is ok, the happy hour deal is good - cocktails or a glass of champagne for 5,50 EUR. For me, it is... More

My initial fears that having its name in English would make this a tourist trap were quickly calmed, and we settled down to have delicious meals. My wife and I both devoured our lasagne, and my mother really enjoyed her Thai chicken and avocado dish. I followed up my meal with an absolutely divine fondant. (Check out my picture; it... More

Typical corner cafe in a residential neighborhood in the 9th Arr. Indoor and plenty of outdoor space. Almost all locals-a great mix of young and older groups, singles and couples. Simple menu items-do not expect Michelin Star dishes-the charcuterie and cheese was excellent and reasonably priced (for Paris). Attentive waiters-all multilingual. Nice selection of inexpensive wines and a reasonable selection... More

23 May, 2015. The No Stress Cafe is interestingly named, and was a short walk from the place of residence, the Grand Hotel de Turin. The outside ambience is nice, and the service, prompt. The title was a draw, with the food not too bad. The fish and chips was good, which was washed down with some red wine (what... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
