Superb evening with a buzzing atmosphere. We booked for 9.00 pm and had to wait a few minutes for our table to be readied. No problem as the other customers waiting were chatty and friendly. First courses were a rabbit paté served with gherkins and plenty of excellent bread, and perfectly poached eggs in pumpkin sauce - divine! Next, quail,... More

We visited Paris by train arriving at lunch time and walked straight here from the station. We had booked following the recommendations on this site. We breezed in past those waiting outside and our luggage and coats were stashed. Not many tables but all the mirrors make it like Popeyes's tent. Food and wine superb. Yes they accept dogs. Gluten... We visited here recently and had a delicious meal. We each had a different starter, all really tasty (salmon rillettes, poached egg in red pepper puree and my rabbit terrine), followed by the venison casserole – beautiful tender chunks of venison (biche) in a deliciously unctuous sauce. A large pot of the stew was brought to our table with another... More

Identifying restaurants that are a little or a lot off the heavily beaten tourist track can be a dit difficult if you don't know your way around the city. We absolutely loved our long dinner, the friendly helpful service, the food, oh the food. Recommend to anyone who is a carnivore.

This is s great little restaurant which was rightly packed the night we visited. The genuine food is delicious and reasonably priced. It is only a short walk from Gare de Lyon where we were staying and we will certainly come again when next in the area.

Visited here with my girlfriend tonight, excellent service and great atmosphere, authentic French, be prepared to spend 2 hours here as plenty of time to digest between courses. I recommend the 4 course menu - beautiful!!

Winter is the perfect season to try hearty dishes prepared with modern flair, but based on traditional French cooking. The menu is extensive, the welcome is warm and you have the opportunity to sample game meats and fowl that you may never have tried. We loved our choices of venison and quail; both perfectly tender and richly flavored. I've dined... More

We found A la Biche au Bois when I was diligently researching where I should try coq au vin in Paris. They don't have a website, so my hotel assisted with making reservations for us. We ate at 8:00pm on the Wednesday before Christmas and the place was packed! It was such a warm and bright atmosphere, all decked out... More
