It would be hard to have a more revolting meal of grease. There are so many wonderful places to eat in Paris and nearby, it really would be silly to eat here intentionally. We only landed here out of hunger, but the hot-dog was inedible, the fries had been cooked about 3 or 4 times over in grease, the chicken... More

I showed up a quarter to 8 and was told that the kitchen was closed. I had heard they made great fries so I went to try them. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was really good. Then the guy tells me 10 minutes later I can order food. I was puzzled but asked for fries. They were so... More

Very cool spot to unwind with a ice cold beer. Reggae music in the background was a nice touch. Close to the 3 line on the Metro. Unfortunately arrived toolate to try the food, kitchen closed at 11.

I love this place for its set lunches which are always delicious and come at a price which is hard to beat in Paris. The service is quick and friendly (also quite rare in this city alas). Ideal for anyone who's in a hurry but still wants a decent hot meal at an affordable price.

Very decent prices for Paris. Fries are a religion there, with generous servings any time of the day. I only went during the day but drinks, beers & other cocktails seem very decently priced and the place has a nice atmosphere, I will definitely try it at night

I tried duck for the first time over here and it was pretty damn good! It's a little hard to get the waitress' attention and we had to wait a little to be served, but the food well made up for it!

I have been going back to this place forever (well since I found it in 2004) but the last time I was there, I was really disappointed. The "tarte du jour" (or quiche of the day) was burnt, the salmon was charcoal clack and looked dry (I didn't have this, my friends did)the chips were cold and although the service... More

I love this place. The staff is really nice and you canbget a great quiche of the and coffee for under 9 euros. The quantity is plentiful even for those who have big appetites. The decor is fake industrial-big pipes, destroyed wall paper but it adds to the authenticity. I go back whenever I can.

First night in Paris and found this gem of a restaurant. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very cool and hip. The place was full of locals. The steak and fries recommend ed by the waiter was delicious. Excellent value compared to the other restaurants in the area. Plus, it was near our Hotel - Holiday Inn Grand... More

Dede La Frite is noted as having the best fries in Paris. While they are slimmer and “more American” than others, they are not the main attraction to this place. Friendly waitstaff bring your orders and make your stay at Dede la Frite pleasant. A wide range of cool artsy music is played depending on the mood of the bartender.... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
