Had 8 pm rez and arrived at 8:20 to restaurant half full with Parisiennes. Tried the special pot au feu. Fairly priced wine list. Busy service staff compliment friendly chefs. A bit out of the way, but perfect for Hotel Square guests.

We have been in the 16th for 33 years and the food pickings here are slim compared to the rest of Paris. However, one of our now-favorite restaurants in all of Paris is Chaumette. A typical turn-of-the-last-century small and charming restauant, Almost all local french...More

This is a typical, old fashioned French restaurant. The room is done out in wood panelling and there aren't many tables. The food was typically french with dishes such as pot au feu and ris de veau. The service was very good and the owner...More

Have eaten often over the years but recent evening meal suggests something's changed, and not necessarily for good. New ownership since April 1st, smaller menu, mainly pre-prepared starters, simpler dishes and not of best quality or that imaginative. What was once a colorful place has...More

The Chaumette is a traditional French bistro near the New York Avenue in the 16th district of Paris. Photos of old bistros as well as modern art and antique style mirrors adorn the walls give the Chaumette a real atmosphere of an old fashioned Parisian bistro. The cuisine is flavoursome and copious, using fresh vegetables, meat and fish to create high quality traditional French dishes. Try a real French hotpot or some wild boar. The dessert menu is also varied and unavoidable tempting and the varied selection of wines may tempt you into trying something new.
