My husband, daughter and I stopped in for dinner after a long day of sightseeing. We are from California. Jean Marc was our waiter and he did a fantastic job making us feel comfortable and at home. All the staff were dressed in nice suits, and very professional and fun. They spoke English for us. As I am allergic to gluten,... More

The entrees were good (trine and soup) and saved the evening, because the main courses were largely disappointing- chicken stew was just bad, and though we barely touched it and stated it wasn't good- we didn't get something instead nor was it deducted from our check. The duck was served almost cold and was hard to chew. For their price... More

Well I turned up without having booked and they got me a table straight away despite the fact that it was busy. Prompt and friendly service with an English menu povided. The food was very tasty - mushroom soup and lambtastic stew (a bit short on pots). I asked for a glass of medium red wine which they did and... More

Easily our favorite meal in Paris. The menu features classics as well as vegetarian options. I enjoyed snails in mushrooms and steak frites. My wife had potato soup and a vegetable plate. All the food was excellent. Service was very helpful and attentive. Extensive wines by the glass. Convivial atmosphere. This experience captures the best of Paris dining.

Good french menu. Excellent entrecote and a not so bad lamb shoulder both for 2. The Japenese chef masters very well traditional French cuisine. Very good deserts more particularly the apple and strawberry pies.

We had an enjoyable meal here with friends. My fish was underwhelming, but the starter of mushrooms and snails was fantastic and others in the group had lamb and duck which they said was superb. Desserts were outstanding.

On this last Sunday on our way to visit Musee Picasso we saw this simple but we'll appointed Cafe, and luckily stopped. Simple Continental breakfast, well not quite when you bread is tasty and crispy, the butter is decent, the jam is real, juice tastes like real fruit and coffee is perfect, all with a great smile! Well we came... More

My wife and I found CdM 9 years ago, and have been coming back pretty much every visit since then. There has rarely been anything amazing that screams....'oh, I hope that's still on the menu' since nothing exactly every is, but consistency is it's own reward and it's own solace....and that's why we keep coming back. Fish/meat/salads....it's all good and... More

This cafe has been a favorite on past trips to Paris. We were surprised it was not bustling for lunch the day of our reservation.....in fact, only a few tables were taken. Could have been the day of the week, or maybe the other reviewers are correct that it has gone down hill. Meal was not particularly memorable, and service... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
