This was my second visit to Pere Fouettard for brunch. First time was last March (2016) and we liked it so much it was a definite to return this visit. Unlike set Sunday brunch, this is a buffet. The choice is amazing. Theres a range of hot/cold starter dishes, pancakes, waffles, hot breakfast, smoked salmon, hams & cheeses and plenty... More

At the end of the afternoon before dinner we dropped by for a glas of wine. Still going strong, pleasant attentive waiters and a good wine. What else does one require.

We were a party of 8 - 4 adults, four children (9-14) - on the upper floor last Saturday night - with a reservation for 19.30 - peak time. My heart went out to our waitress as she had to hoof it up and down the stairs for a mere 4 tables but such is life. She had a fabulous... More

Not a bad place to sit and have some traditional French fare with a good atmosphere. The outside terrace is large and offers space for both eaters and drinkers. The menu and the quality of the food was good, especially the confit of duck. Don't make it a destination but do pop in if you're passing and fancy a nice... More

25€ for a buffet is sadly not so expensive for Paris but that one are nothing special or impressive. Not too much choices, no fresh fruit and scramble eggs mix with a way too much of milk. This place is very Parisian, with all the bad sides... smile, pleasant, welcoming are the opposite of its atmosphere, but so Parisian! If... More

It was our last night in Paris and we came here hoping to have a great night out. Our waiter was the most arrogant waiter. I asked for a glass of wine. When he brought it over, my friend was ready to get his glass. So I asked for a second glass for him. I got yelled at. I was... More

For €16, you get starter or dessert, main dish and coffee. Tried the cote d'agneau while my husband chose the tartare de saumon, and it was delicious with very generous proportions.

The restaurant is close to the Chatelet Les Halles station in the 1st arrondissement. I like the decorations and their confit canard tastes very good.

My wife and I enjoyed Pere Fouettard so much we went back again! The crepe flambée is lit at the table and tastes marvelous! The white house wine was so good and perfectly chilled. The service here was outstanding. We sat outside but inside upstairs there is a nice dining area for families or just to have a quiet place... More

Stressful atmosphere, horrible service, poor coffee and the most hostile waiter I've ever encountered. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Stay away.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
