My brother-in-law treated us to dinner here and we really loved it. A bit upscale but the food is solid Southeast Asian and the service is good. There are so many other restaurants in this district but, if atmosphere is high on your list, we would definitely suggest you try it.

We come often to this place with my friends, lets say it'our local canteen. The coconut fish soup in the actual coconut is delicious as well as the grilled duck. Spring rolls not exceptionnal with too much rice paper and noodles. Green curry chicken is spicy and full of flavours. Prices are ok for the quantity. Service should make more... More

Good food, fast service. Try a few dishes as we did. Always full so arrive early. The caramelised porc ran out so we had to settle for the sweet and sour which was not bad. It's right on the street next to another very popular restaurant but we had good food.

The service is fast, the meals are globally good and it's the price correct (you can eat well for less than 12€). Among other restaurant in the quarter this one is among my favorite if I want to eat quickly, alone or with a friend, and not expensively. If you are vegetarian you can ask very easily ask for some... More

There are so many very good restaurants around Avenue d'ivry/Avenue de Choisy that La mangue verte struggles to make its mark. It provides more space for clients than Lao Lane Xang next door, but that's its only advantage. The terrasse is really just tables on the sidewalk on noisy Avenue d'Ivry. Food is very good, but with occasional slippage (overcooked... More

We were just overwhelmed to find tenths of Asian restaurant in this area. While paris is in general mixed, this is the asian town, with many choices and locals prparing authentic dishes. Prices are very reasonable. Thai, vietnamese, laosien, this area is an indochine delight. Le mangue verte was a good surprise, vietnamese was our favorite though, thI was good... More

Craving for Thai food, we tried our luck at Mangue Verte. In total we ordered Green Mango and Shrimp Salad and Pad Thai which were pretty good, but the main dishes were quite disappointing. The chili chicken stir fried with basil (Kai Kapraw) which is a signature Thai dish, was poor, chicken seemed more boiled than sauteed, nothing authentic or... More

That pretty much says it. If I were to describe what was on my plate, it would sound like hyperbole. Yes, that bad.

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
