We had a great meal at this small Tibetan restaurant run by a very friendly couple. The menu boasted a wide variety of authentic Tibetan food and even some Mongolian delicacies. The salty milk tea was delicious, as was the food.

Always looking for new places... my husband recommended tibetan food. It was our first time. The places is very charming! Makes you feel almost as if you are in a tavern in Tibet. We ordered fried dumplings (incredibly good), ginger beef (yum!), steamed fish, green beans in garlic, curry beef and the house tea (A MUST TRY!!). Everybody was happy... More

Always on the look out of different places to have lunch near my office, I stumbled upon this one day while desperately craving for a hot bowl of soup with noodles on a chilly wintery day! The decor makes you feel like you have entered another country altogether! And when I had the house-special of home made pasta with a... More

This charming Tibetan restaurant is located in a small street close to a RER station and the famous Jardin du Luxembourg and it worths a visit. They serve the best steam vegetarian momos (Tibetan dumpling or dim sum) with spinach and cheese and the steam meat momo is also perfect. They come together with a homemade vegetarian sauce that completes... More

Authentic, charming and super sweet personnel. Being vegetarian I tried som dumplings (recommended, very nice!) and a soup of maize (a bit plain for my taste). Had the tee Maison - highly recommended! Was open a Sunday evening at 7pm.

A tiny restaurant with a large menu and possibility, also for vegetarians. Nice selection of soup, the dishes looked very well prepared in all details and fresh. A good choice among the various ethnic restaurants. Menu's are around 25€ per person. The place is very calm, relaxing and can be romantic as well. There are not many tables, so booking... More

We came upon the restaurant by chance and looking for that different meal in Paris, took a chance, never having eaten Tibetan food before. We were not disappointed. The dumplings were superb and the spicy beef was great. Add to that great vegetables and very friendly service we would definitely recommend this restaurant. We are returning to Paris within a... Our family wandered into Kokonor out of curiosity - we were in the mood for something different and had never tried Tibetan food. We're so glad we did! We ordered a broad sampling of dishes and all were excellent! The waitstaff were friendly and the decor was suitably Tibetan. If you're staying in Paris for more than a few days,... More

We went to Kokonor on the recommendation of the owners of the apartment we rented and wow! are we glad we did. it was our last night in Paris and my only regret is that we waited until the last night which meant we couldn't return. We started with the house tea which is a wonderfully fragrant mixture which looks... More

We've been visiting Kokonor for over 10 years and it is consistently great! The food, the atmosphere and the service at a great price, which makes a wonderful combination! The place is very cozy and could also be called "romantic" ;) A great place for new food experience!

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
