My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner at this first floor (NB stairs only - no lift) restaurant within the medieval city with magnificent views over the walls to the countryside beyond. It is an utterly delightful, family-run enterprise with a menu which is to die for and a wine list which offers a choice rather than... More

A lovely restaurant in a lovely setting. There isn't an enormous choice of food but I could have eaten anything on the menu. The wine list is extensive with something for everyone at every price point. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and their English was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Had a fantastic lunch at La Marquiere whilst visiting Carcassonne. We saw the menu outside and thought that it looked reasonable and I was looking for some fish. When we went inside I really didn't expect what we got and actually felt under dress for the occasion. The food was spectacular and we also received a complimentary dessert.

Nice people, nice food, fancy, but not over the top. The food here is always presented well, and ranges from very good to spectacular. Nice wines at fair prices too.

We tend not to enjoy the five course gastronomy dinners that many find enjoyable; too long, too pretentious, too many courses we either don't like or (for one reason or another) can't eat, and too expensive. This one, in the old city tucked away in a corner, is a perfect compromise. Wonderful, interesting food, great wine partings, and especially, very... More

Booked this restaurant for a Saturday evening because due to unforeseen circumstances it was closed on the following Tuesday which was our preferred date. Was amazed that although I had booked over the internet they knew the background to it and apologised for the circumstances. Staff were friendly and professional. The starters and main courses were superb. The sweet was... More

My wife and I had just moved in to our new (1650's) house in Carcassonne and there can be no better place to have a celebratory meal. The service, food, atmosphere and the friendliness just keep us coming back again and again.

Not particularly welcoming and the lamb shank was impossible to cut resulting in the sauce being splashed over my jacket. The staff were initially helpful in in providing a cloth but to no effect. It was accepted that the lamb was not properly cooked and an alternative offered and accepted. However no follow up was made and no offer to... More

This was our most expensive meal in Carcassonne, a celebratory outing for my wife and I, something special. It lived up to my expectations. The service was prompt but relaxed. One couple complained about the slow service and walked out after a starter, which was a pity, although we did not think the reason was entirely justified. All I would... More
