We were visiting very briefly and took a stroll looking for food. This place looked as good as any. It was very nice. Good service, food and wine.

The food was good but there were a few issues with the service, maybe because they were understaffed? A few requests were not met (ie. had to ask 3 times to order our food; we asked for our meat to be cooked medium and it was medium rare; and we ordered a coffee which never came out).

We found this place by chance on the first day of our holiday. We had a starter of soft cheese and Mediterranean veg, then a nicely cooked magret du canard with potato gratin and carrot puree. Sweets of coconut panna cotta and chocolate mousse were both good. The menu is limited, but better to do a few things well. Service... More

Our server, Audrey, enabled us to have a memorable spontaneous dinner. Her selection of wine with each course was spot on. She was discreet and our meal unhurried. Her Carmel digestif was delicious. Perhaps the best server of our stay in Montpelier. Thanks again Audrey. Mary

This charming looking restaurant has a good reputation but our experience was memorable for being one of the worst meals I have eaten in France. A delightful waitress was welcoming and the menu looked simple and inviting. I ordered the pork loin which turned up suspiciously quickly and was not just undercooked but raw. I sent it back and ordered... More

I used to visit this restaurant as a student and returned back 15 years later to discover that it was even better than I remembered! Simple yet warm ambience with a friendly and welcome service. The timing of the service was also amazing - not too quickly, not delayed - and the food was just delicious. A lovely place to... More

Had a really lovely meal here. Most people were taking the 19€ set menu of 'piece de boucher, sauce vin rouge, ecrasé de pommes de terres' or 'encornet persillades, risotto asperges' with a panacotta dessert. It looked really nice but we fancied a slightly larger main course each and the starter and dessert to share, so we took one 29€... More

Been there on a Sunday evening on recommendation of a friend. Service was good. However, i've been disappointed with the food. The 'encornet' or grilled mini squid were not cooked and were chewy, the duck brochette (skewer) was tough and tasteless. The waiter did not question why there was so much food left on our plates. The deserts were too... More

6 of us had an evening meal here and found it to be, well, just so so. It was my idea to go there as we used to eat there fairly often up until 2012. The starters were tasty but very small, the main course was better, but other than encornets, there wasn't any fish that I noticed. I had... More

Tucked in a narrow street of the old city center, this gem of a restaurant is a must for couples or small group of friends. With its original arched ceilings, its cellar like stone walls and secret corners, the multilevel dining room is reminiscent of an old dungeon. Great classic french food with of flair of modern age. Outstanding wine... More
