Easy going place in one of Metz main squares. The menu was catering for many tastes and the quality was very good. Pity we arrived late to try one of their set menus. Desserts are amazingly good.

We went in the evening and ordered menus (20 and 25 euros). There were lots of customers but we didn't wait too much. The food was local and tasty - not fancy. There weren't that many snails in the snails entrée, but besides that everything was good.

On a stop on a trip to Burgondy: An extremely fresh salad seasoned with a strong but perfect vinaigrette, followed by a wonderfull 'Bouche a la reine', whitch is a very tasty poultry specialty, AND ! the best sauteed potatoes you can imagine. Honest wine selection and good service. Not to forget the perfect setting on an ancient square. What... More

Venturing into the city center of Metz, you could not miss the multitude of tables on Place St Louis by most of the restaurants and bars, which were starting to fill up since it was lunch time and the weather warm and sunny despite being October. The Marmite looked specifically friendly with small groups of people obviously enjoying their food... More

We were drawn to this beautiful city centre location, and La Marmite was the one restaurant (among many in the near vicinity) that attracted us. We picked well. We chose the cheapest set menu, and were not disappointed. The food was plentiful and well presented by friendly and attentive staff. We would gladly eat here again.

Having found the two top Tripadvisor restaurants closed for part of the summer, we came across La Marmite and thoroughly enjoyed the whole relaxed dining experience amongst what seemed to be locals. We sat outside, where the tables are within the very long covered arcade which extends along the whole street. As our get-by French sometimes runs into a few... More

Had a sunday lunchmeal here and the place was packed. Alhough the staff was very busy we didn't have to wait long for our meal which was of good quality. On the menu many lorraine specialities are on offer. It's located at the beautifull st Louis square. I can really recommend this restaurant.

Visited La Marmite with friends and had lunch from starter to main course to dessert and coffee. August is a busy time though we did not expect what we had to hear. Many dishes on the menu were not available. We cannot understand how people refuse to sell a service just because it's 1.30 pm and they are busy. We... More
