Good food , good service and great ambiance can be guaranteed on in the restaurants above Le Marche Victor Hugo. This time we ate at Le Magret where the home made Cassoulet appealed to our friends. The squid I ordered was not cheap but was sublime. Their fixed daily menus however, are always good and great value for money.

One of 5 restaurants situated above the market of Victor Hugo -the market is fabulous and the eating up-stairs just the same, using produce from the market so all fresh and delicious ...the atmosphere is sizzling.

Le Magret is one of the row of small restaurants on the second floor of the Marche (market) Victor Hugo, an indoor marketplace of small stalls selling different fresh foods. The restaurants are only open from about 12 to 3 pm, they close when the market closes. Food was excellent, we focused on duck - pate appetizer, sliced breast, and... More

This is an experience not to be missed if you have more than one day in Toulouse. The Marché Victor Hugo is a classic wrought-iron covered market overflowing with eye candy for foodies. But if you're staying in a hotel and can't indulge your desire to purchase food items, go up the stairs to the second floor to find five... More

This was our second time here. Service was excellent as always. The starters were of mixed quality- with the salad od chevre and jambon a litttle wilty, and the sardines (which are basically like ceviche) good but not what was expected. The beef with roquefort sauce/fries is a b asic french lunch staple and was nicely prepared. The creme caramel... More

This restaurant on the first floor of the Victor Hugo market really does fill up quickly. We tried the 18 Euro menu which was great value for the quality of the ingredients and standard of cooking. The salade Landaise which included perfectly cooked ducks gizzards was fantastic, as was my warm goats cheese and walnut salad. My partner had the duck... More

Got a tip from a friend to come here at 11.30 -11.45am for Sunday lunch as it gets so busy. He was quite right. The service was good, especially since it was so busy. The food was simple but excellent. Mainly beef & duck but with daily specials of fish, lamb & squid. Very low prices considering the high quality... More

Its very hard to get a table at this small restaurant located on top of a market with other small restaurants beside it. I think they are the most popular judging by the number of patrons and people waiting. Food is inexpensive but very very good. Service can be bad but mainly because they can get really busy. My favorites... More
