We visited this resturant as it had good reviews . I thought it would be very French, but I didn't feel that way atol. The menu was very small with not much choice, so I ended up having steak and chips, steak was ok but there was two many chips on the plate no vegetables either. The meal cost a... More

Although this restaurant was cosy, the food here is average and verging on being a bit bland. It's not bad by any means but certainly not outstanding. We ordered the duck and steak and both were under seasoned and a bit tasteless. It looked like the seafood was better as everyone seemed to order that instead!

We booked a meal at Aylmerton at the last minute through TripAdvisor; Sylmar acknowledged the booking within a few minutes. We had 2 mains, the deer & lamb, which were both amazing. We shared a sumptuous chocolate brownie & had a mid range wine, all in for €89. The guys running the restaurant were full of smiles which made for... More

We had a lovely dinner at The Sylmar. I opted for the pigeon and it was delicious. I wanted to try so much from the menu. Shame we didn't have time to come back.

Small family run bistro located in the Place de Sebastopol, which is quiet and away from busy tourist areas. The dishes are French with a few British and American deserts thrown in for good measure. The food was well presented; tasty and served promptly. The server and the proprietors spoke to us and we're friendly and helpful in advising us... More

We love the Sylmar! We've been to Lille several times and always make sure to visit the Sylmar. It's a classic French restaurant with a fabulous English flair to the menu. Service is friendly and attentive. The dinner menu includes such lovely surprises as Irish beef and English cheeses - beautiful marriage of food cultures. On weekends the Sylmar serves... More

Great atmosphere and excellent food. Restaurant off the main tourist drag but well worth a visit. Cuisine French but with British twist which worked extremely well.

We went there lunch and had a wonderful time. The beef tartare is fabulous. The chef is Michelin-star trained with an easy approach to the freshest ingredients and an educated sense of flavor. This is a modern, bright Parisian restaurant with an English twist, in the heart of Lille. Highly recommended.

We were there at a quiet moment. But it is a gem. Food was really nice. Asparagus, oysters, entrecote and lamb. Prices are quite reasonable. Service was friendly and fast.
