Traveled in Normandy with a huge group and Lion d'Or was very accommodating of our tour group. The servers were kind and polite, and the food was wonderful. I wish I could remember the names of what I ate, but the food was a delight. The best part though is the bar in the hotel, which has photographs of famous... More

We had dinner here one evening while staying at the hotel. The food and service were impeccable but worth the fine price.

We ate here our first night in Bayeux because we were staying at this hotel. It was good but not memorable.

I wish I had paid a little more and stayed at this Hotel. It had a beautiful restuarant and we had a very good dinner here. It was a Sunday so a little quiet as we ate early, but the staff were great. The food was delicious and served to a very high standard! Good wine and lovely food! Photos... More

This hotel is located in the heart of Bayeux. Everything in the old part of the city is within walking distance. The rooms are lovely and well appointed. There is a very nice courtyard for alfresco dining and a nice restaurant on site. We had an evening meal on arrival which was very tasty. The service was somewhat slow that... More

Had one of the 20 best meals there I've had in the last ten years. Excellent and inventive choices. A remarkable cream of cauliflower soup that some might label as a tad bland, but was so rich with a subtle mushroom ting. Followed by sliced pork loin with a superb wine reduction. Portions are not large, but every bite was... More

We stopped by this hotel to have a drink and relive history. We sat in the room where the generals met to plan the war strategy during 1939 - 1944. We were surrounded by pictures of Eisenhower and Montgomery and other officials who took charge of WWII. It was indeed a sobering moment to sit in the same room where... More

We were told this was the perfect restaurant for a birthday celebration. Reservations were made and when we arrived we were promptly seated. Then...we were given 4 completely different menus, we were not provided a wine menu, and we watched the people who were seated before us and after us being served with great attention. Our waitress walked by us... More

We had dinner at this restaurant during our stay in Bayeux. All the food sampled was delicious. We started with foie gras and sweetbreads followed by roasted Dublin prawns and salt marsh lamb. We finished our meal with calvados. Service was very good even though the restaurant was quite busy. Wine list and calvados choices were excellent. Have a drink... More

Description
At the centre of Bayeux, enjoy regional and seasonal products at the Lion d'Or Restaurant. This restaurant, at the heart of the Normandy region, gives guests the opportunity to try some of the specialities of this rich gastronomic area. Chef Jérôme Alix has designed several set menus as well as a generous à la carte menu. In the restaurant itself or on its terrace, you can savour suckling veal bred in Normandy, for example, before delving into a selection of local cheese and finishing in style with an apple Saint-Honoré cake, accompanied by a light Calvados cream and cider caramel.
