We spent my husband and I a great moment in your restaurant ! It was the first time in your lovely place and absolutely not the last one ! Many choices for the menu and excellent quality of French products and a real competitive value ! The waitress was just so nice and helpful! Dishes cooked with love and great... More

We took the mussels from Mont Saint Michel which were good. Deserts are home made except ice cream: cheese cake not soft , strawberry soup wonderful, apple tart correct, panna Cotta good, ice creams disappointing. Like a previous reviewer indicated, they crowd people in and service suffers as a result; all chairs in veranda are almost crappy but you can... More

There are a lot of restaurants in this part of Caen and we, four friends, just picked one for dinner. La Fringale was a really good choise. All of us opted for their three course dinner menu with fois gras and salmon for starter and duck breast for main course. Every dish was delicious and the dessert, consisiting of an... More

A nice setting for a restaurant in the old quarter and it could have been excellent...but Pleasant staff find you a seat but then leave you for a very long time as they are constantly trying to fill the restaurant with as many people as possible and forgetting the service. The food is good but could have been better, the... More

Amazing food presented beautifully, perfect size portions. Make sure to save space for dessert! My father a diabetic who hasn't eaten a dessert for 5 years even had to give in! The staff truly made this experience wonderful, fast, friendly and take the time to speak to everyone. Lovely atmosphere

It felt like we were being moved along a conveyor belt. One waitress - possibly the owner? - was attentive, but the rest were just phoning it in. I get annoyed when I have a conversation with a waitress regarding the menthe, it doesn't show up, and then she can't remember, and then does. Unprofessional and irritating.

La Fringale is a gem of a restaurant. We had the 25 euro menu, with a brilliant 3-cheese (all from Normandy) fondant, perfectly cooked magret de canard with fleur de sel and green peppercorn sauce, and colonel sorbet. The choice was really good and everything looked great. There looked to be a good number of locals eating there too which... More

Rue du Vaugueux is one of the streets with many restaurants. La Fringale offered more of a traditional menu which looked tempting, and the set menu gave plenty of choice. It also looked like a place to enjoy food rather than making a fuss about nothing. We were not at all disappointed. The portions were larger than we expected and... More

Meal - Starter escargots in vol au vent (although on menu it was written brioche) and main course a piece of Entrecôte medium rare. My girlfriend had mixed fish... More
