A great hidden treasure! Our cruise ship stopped in Cherbourg, and we had dinner at Le Pily, having booked via email about a month in advance. The entire meal was fabulous, and the price quite reasonable. Each course was remarkable, the staff friendly, and service exemplary. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Le Pily to friends.

A very warm welcome, easy to book, (online from England). We ordered the four-course menu, but with the extra "samplers" etc I counted nine (quite small) courses altogether and every one a treat! English language of staff was adequate. Michelin recommended.

Worth coming over from Portsmouth for a special meal. Not particular family friendly due to haute cuisine menu. Modern twist on traditional Norman ingredients, flavours and dishes. Superb wine menu. Attentive, welcoming and polite staff. Highly recommended.

It is clearly trying for one but at the moment it is incredible value and I can't help but think prices will increase significantly as soon as the inevitable happens and it is awarded it's well-deserved star. We had the E40 menu and everything was excellent; from the amuse bouche of fish balls and its vivid green honey, ginger and... More

Having visited all other Michelin starred restaurants within the region I was eagerly anticipating having dinner at Le Pily in order to complete the set. I must admit the first few courses of a 7 course menu were ok to very good if not spectacular. Battered fish balls followed by a decent carrot soup served with a plastic spoon did... More

A variety of menus comprising small dishes. Local ingredients cooked and served in innovative ways by knowledgeable waiting staff. Chef previously at La France et les Fuschias in St Vaaste where he met wife on service side. Pily is contraction of their names. Their loss explains decline of latter establishment. This is top notch dinning at very reasonable prices. Usually... More

Having been there twice, I can tell you that there is a strong attention given to every details during the dining experience. A must try... More

Our holiday home is in St Vaast La Hogue, a 30 minute drive from Cherbourg, so once settled we usually eat locally. I wanted to dine at a Michelin starred restaurant, or one with similar standards. Having read the reviews about Le Pily, I decided to book a lunch time table for my husband and me. The attention to detail... More

Apart from the very beautifully arranged and tasty food we were especially surprised by the very intitutive and responsive personnel. I think I had not yet experienced this in even more luxurious restaurants.
