Even though the restaurant is under new management, the restaurant decor looks and feels the same: a very simple, clean, and friendly diner. My husband had the patty melt, which was tasty with grilled onions, melted cheese, toasted brown bread, and a great meat patty. The only disappointment was that it didn't come with fries; this was odd given the price. I had the taco salad, which was simple but also very yummy. The salad was made of romaine lettuce with seasoned chicken, tomatoes, green peppers, and cheese nestled in a double-walled nest of tortilla chips and a fried shell. The dressing of salsa and sour cream brought it all together. The service was friendly and efficient, visiting the table often to refill our coffee and water.

I stayed here for two days for business. Nice, clean, and great food in the cafe. Water pressure is not great in the shower. But I would still recommend it if you have business in the area.

Stopped on the way to WPG. Great service and tasty, plentiful food. The home made pies are worth a stop if you just need a pick-me-up.

We have been to this restaurant many times and always stop in for pie. It has always been good service and tasty good food. This time around I ordered coconut cream pie and tasted the tip which seemed yummy, so I took a second bite and it tasted off. I flipped the pie over and it was burned on the bottom. The waitress was not in the room to call over so I went to the cashier counter and brought the burned pie to the waitress, told her it tasted bad with a burned taste and that I didn’t feel I should have to pay for it. When we went to pay the bill, they charged me for the pie. I told them that it was an error in the charge. The owner came out and told me that I had eaten the custard and therefore had to pay. Furthermore he told me that I was a bad customer. I told him we came out from Winnipeg often to eat there, and that it was just a bad piece of pie And I didn’t want to argue. He retorted that I was a bad customer and that he had good customers from Toronto. He said he didn’t care if we came again. I was stunned! Unbelievably bad response and bad customer relations for sure. We felt like walking out entirely, but paid for our meal and beverages. This kind of response for one burned piece of pie? Me thinks he protesteth too much! This would never have happened with the previous owners. Rating today: 0

Stayed one night as I wanted to be near Carberry to visit relatives. The hotel is very dated and has many issues. The toilet never fully flushed and trickled all night. It had black stuff inside the bowl that kept showing up when it flushed? The light for the gas station being on all night shone through the ultra thin curtains. Rooms are really tiny, bathrooms even smaller. Bathroom door when opening would hit the toilet. Shower stall was still the old style metal one with a ratty old curtain. The little fridge was so noisy it woke me up every time it started. The bed sheets were off white which leads me to wonder how old they are or worse how clean they are. The smell of curry in the air never dissipated. My suggestion try anywhere else. Never going back.

The motel room was okay but could have used better lighting and an end table by the bed. Room was clean and very cheap, so you get what you pay for. Was convenient to stay there one night and we were out and about all day so only there to sleep.

I needed accomodation for one night only due to tight time lines, fitting a small Manitoba town reunion and travel into what shouldn't be as busy a schedule for one supposedly retired? The little motel chosen was strictly due to its best proximity central to all the activities I was attending. Checked in after a great lunch in the attached cafe and found that the rooms were nice, clean and had everything I needed. There was no vacancy by the time I arrived back at the motel so busy enough, but I still had a great sleep as the place was very quiet! I have stayed in very expensive large multi-star hotels that were no way as quiet as this one. The restaurant appears very popular with local residents and as I found out rightly so! My only regret twas that I didn't have room left after the great lunch to try their home made pies! Next time I will go for the dessert and skip the main course!

WARNING: Do NOT stay at this hotel! Locked in room number one for half an hour because of frozen door. Owner Robert unconcerned and apathetic. 1215 midnight crashing and banging of doors constantly in the kitchen next-door. When I called to complain owner Robert basically told me to leave the key on the table and leave..." So what do you want me to do about it ?"was his response. Spent a sleep deprived night and panicky morning unable to get out of my own room. No compensation no discount no apology given.

I had lunch with my parents here - the food was homemade and the portions were generous. The daily special came with pie that I was too full to eat but was gladly packed for me to take home and enjoy later. The restaurant is small and I have tried to eat here before but there were no seats available- so glad that I was success on this visit. A true gem and easily accessible from the high way

Busy restaurant just off the Trans Canada highway near the junction of highway 5. Very clean and great service. Prices most reasonable and lots of choices on the menu. Soup of the day was cream of mushroom and it was hot, thick, tasty and full of mushrooms. The club house sandwich was great. Hamburger was substantial and came with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, red onions and mustard. Onion rings were amazing!
