We ate at L'Homme de Bois on a very rainy, cold night in beautiful Honfleur. The food was excellent, in particular the duck and beef. The desserts were to die for. The restaurant was busy even on an out of season, freezing, wet night and it was understandable why. The service was friendly and efficient but not intrusive. We enjoyed... More

Mid winter and Honfleur is shut, but this was well recommended and we had an excellent set of plat du jours, nice bottle of wine and Calvados.

My wife wanted to have diner in this restaurant but I am vegan. When we entered to book, we have been warmly welcome and the chief said, no problem we will find out. The menu chosen by my wife was very well prepared and cooked, the same for me. They did everything possible to satisfy my diet demand. We will... More

Our meal was one of the best! The wait staff was friendly and attentive - very helpful with the menu and knowledgeable about the wines. There were four of us and we shared a plate of fois gras that was exceptional. Two split the beef for two that looked like enough for four! One had sautéed scallops and one had... More

We booked for an evening meal (booking advisable as it is very popular and often full). The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter helped us to understand the menu and we made choices from the a la carte section. My skate wing came with a piquant tomato and herb sauce which was delicious. My wife's coquilles St Jacques... More

Very popular restaurant, so be sure to book ahead. Not very big, and tables are very close together. The room can get very hot. The service was good, the food was very good and the price was decent. We were very happy with our meal and would definitely eat there again.

It is located in the old part of the city. There are available a few nice tables outside but for these a reservation is better. The service is good. Most of the food in the list is seafood. Price not cheap. Fir 2 persons around 100 euros.

Off the beaten tourist track we had a delicious lunch. Perfectly seasoned seafood and beautiful oysters. Excellent wine choices. The staff was friendly and politely tolerated my abysmal French!

We have been here many times before but today it was so special we had to review! After a long journey we just wanted somewhere to wind down and have a reviving meal and this is just the place. It is warm with a lovely wood fire, welcoming and efficient staff and good wholesome food. The lamb choose were excellent... More
