We've eaten in La Goutte D'Eau many times in the 12 years we've been visiting Cagnes-sur-Mer. It's one of the few places that have remained consistent over that time. Fabrice, the chef-patron is always friendly and works his socks off carting plates up and down the hill, to and from the kitchen, as well as doing the cooking. The menu... More

This restaurant was (literally) 6 steps from our apartment in Haute de Cagnes. Both the waiter and the proprietor welcomed us (and our 7 year old son) our first night. The experience was enough that we dined there once more before departure. The waiter offered tips on area amusements and the proprietor even brought unsolicited Kir Royals to our table... More

If you want a friendly meal and a low budget bill, this is the place to visit (but stay away from the fish course). Le chef is the prototypical friendly French host, doing everything himself (except in high seasons when he may have engaged an assistant of variable expertise), who manage to create an atmosphere you will take home with... We always eat here because the food is great and the chef and owner creates a wonderful atmosphere. It's a very small restaurant and it's always full during the high season but always popular with local residents.

This restaurant has about 16 places, and it is advisable to book. It is a one-man band with the owner cooking, serving, washing-up, etc. Quite fascinating to watch how he does it all. Food is good and very reasonably priced as is the wine. Well worth a visit if you want a good, basic meal. We would go back.

Eating here feels like visiting a very kind French chef in his home. He keeps his customers happy with a menu that rarely (if ever) changes. The food is tasty and filling, and the ambience is super!

I enjoyed a dinner at La Goutte d'Eau while spending a week in Haut-de-Cagnes with friends. This intimate restaurant with outstanding home cooking is in the heart of the charming medieval village. For my dinner, I enjoyed a duck pate followed by the best mussels in a white wine sauce that I've ever had. For dessert, I ordered a nougat... More

Just below the castle, on the steep road down made for the perfect place to sit on the terrace and enjoy the atmosphere of Haut de Cagne. Good food, and friendly, personal service.

I would suggest not driving as the parking is almost non existent and the route is narrow. So when having walked / parked in town, go to the police station, near where bicycles are hired at a stand near a big map of the town. The bus stop for the free shuttle bus numbered 44 is just there right outside... More
