I know my bit of Moroccan food by now, and I can assure you that this is the most authentic one I have found so far in the French Rivera. The decor is actually very real, but I end up sweating while waiting for my food, and that was November (were they copying Moroccan's weather too?).

Recommended by a friend and after a long search for a good couscous, we decided to go to try the couscous. I must say, congratulations to the owner and chef.... It serves only couscous but they do it right. We opted for the lamb and chicken and the merguez one. For wine as we wanted to drink a rosê for... More

We went to this restaurant because of the reviews on Trip one lunchtime. Three of us went, we each chose a different meat, Beef kebab, Lamb Chops (slow cooked) and Chicken (again slow cooked). I realise for those experienced in couscous restaurants the next bit isn't relevant, what comes out is a large communal bowl of couscous, a large bowl... More

Well, I have been eating in this restaurant for over 17 years and if I didn't review Le Maghreb before it was maybe because I was not sure if I wanted to share this secret. They have been serving just couscous for decades (couscous royal, couscous merguez, couscous vegetarien) so you won't find a variety of food but the food... More

Operated by the same family for decades it is by far the best couscous you can find on the French Riviera. On the top of the great quality of the food, the team is very kind and the atmosphere friendly and authentic.... Not that common on the French Riviera. Not in the most touristic area of Cannes but it really... More

What a surprise! We made reservations for 8 on a Saturday night. The owner greeted us at the door with a warm and sincere hand shake. The table was ready in the main dining room that is decorated in a marocan style with Berbers frescoes on the wall, colored glass windows and rustic furniture. They only serve couscous and you... The tables were full, so they opened a small table on the back balcony over the courtyard just for us. It was quiet, perfect, and romantic. The food was in the top two couscous meals I have ever had. I would absolutely go back. The service was not fast, but no problem as this was a memorable experience in addition... More

We have been going to the Maghreb for many years and the couscous is always excellent. I highly recommend the 'Royale' which is impossible to finish but oh so delicious. Service is pleasant and the owner always, always greets all his guests. The restaurant is not very large so it is highly advisable to book in advance.

The Maghreb has been around for almost forty years, a longevity which in Cannes means they must be doing something good. And for sure they do a really good couscous whose copiousness means you will never get to finish it. You might find cheaper, but you won't find the same value for money. The back room overlooking a tortoise haven... More
