We found this small and friendly bar on our first evening in Nice and returned the following 3 nights. Fellow customers were friendly and it was a great spot for people watching.

Friendly service whether you are a local or a tourist. Great wine by the glass - recommend the Merlot but the Rioja was not bad either. Far better than in the main Cours Saleya but then you do not the view. Prices are better though and you can people watch as the Cathedral is just down the street. Palais Lascaris... More

As we walked down the gardens up the hill, we spotted this bar and stopped for a cider. They have Magners and Guinness beer, so there is hardly much to complain about. Mike, Liam, Eren, Jill are great to chat about the place.

We really, really like Kilkenny beer and can only get it when we travel in Europe. So finding it at a place where we can just stop and sit is awesome!

We just went for a drink in the nearest irish bar to our apartment. Tiny bar with limited seating and the cellar is also small with a dark and dingy feel about it. Seems quite popular as there are always a great number of smokers outside, but I'm totally missing the point.

Situated on the corner of two busy streets in the Old Town the Snug and Cellar bar is a nice place to while away an hour or two. We had a couple of glasses of wine and a large bucket of chips which were really tasty!

As a first time solo traveller I couldn't have appreciated the warm welcome I received from both Miriam and Owen more. Such friendly hosts who are doing a sterling job running this quaint little pub. Extremely helpful and chatty which was just what was needed! Great wine...at a great price and lovely little place to while away some afternoon hours.... More

Quaint and dainty little spot!! The snug seems a fitting name, with the place being both cosy and intimate. There is a fantastic relationship between the staff and the clintel, and the locals are both really friendly and chatty. Ideal spot for a few relaxing drinks with friends or alone as you are bond to be entertained by the many... More

We try really hard to soak up all that is French in Nice, but at least one night on every trip we end up in the Snug and Cellar. This is like local pubs used to be. Everyone so friendly and a great cultural mix for all age groups. Friday night is a real favourite as the fish and chips... More
