We arrived in the middle of the first France World Cup match and that might be why the experience was not that good. We almost left after the third question was answered with a bad attitude, but it was late and we were pretty hungry....More

The restaurant is actually in a cave underneath the seating of the Roman Theatre. We approach all restaurants in France with a little trepidation, because my better half is a veggie, & when she doesn't enjoy her meal, it takes away my enjoyment! But here...More

Perhaps it was the surprise of late arrivals but we did not receive the service we had become accustomed to. However, our waiter (and the only waiter as he had been let down by fellow employees) was excellent and did his best to make us...More

We went for dinner with another couple and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of this very unique dining experience in a cave next to the Antique Theatre in Orange. The food was excellent and the portions were quite large for a French restaurant and the prices...More

Although the amicable staff do not know the ancient history of the cave, they are with it in their preparation and presentation of seasonal food items on the menu. This cave, dug into the hillside by the ancient Roman theater, is a unique setting in...More

Went here as Saveurs was full. Glad we did. Really is a unique venue, a large cave carved into the hill in front of the Roman temple next to the ancient theatre. Large, well lit, so you don't feel hemmed in. Good menu and food...More

The place, in a grotto, is spectacular of course. The food is amazing. I had two dishes with truffles which were fantastic. I would only perhaps recommend a wider choice of beers and to install an a/c but what really took it away for me...More

The food was excellent, small portions but well presented tasty food, inspired from modern French cuisine. The local wine we tried was also excellent. The most interesting point though was the setting, this is a small restaurant which is next to the old roman theatre....More

After an evening stroll around Orange after a long and difficult journey from the Alps, we spotted this place set into a 'cave' of the walls around the historic Roman Arena. It is stunning inside and there is lots to look at. Messages and autographs...More

Situated between the Theatre Antique and the Roman Temple, in fact if you eat outside you are eating in the Roman Temple! The food was surprisingly good for what I thought would be a pure and simple tourist trap. The entrance to the restaurant is directly from the Antique Theatre - we paid 16 euro each for a really good meal (plat du jour) in a wonderful setting
