True, this is not cutting-edge cuisine or decor, but it is a charming restaurant which offers good service, fairly priced excellent food and decently priced wine too, so we're not complaining. We ate two courses off the carte for supper and enjoyed everything.

In contrast to previous comments, we experienced a rather conventional, at most proper cuisine without any surprising, courageous or inspiring touch. Service and cuisine are professionally managed by an elderly couple. Regarding the developing scene of interesting restaurants in Marseille, this place seems to be somewhat left behind and needs urgently some inspiration concerning cuisine, decoration and presentation. For a... More

We walked in without a reservation on a cool winter night and were struck by the warmth of the greeting and of the room. Delicious slow-cooked beef, duck risotto, inventive "Japanese-style" cured mackerel with wasabi butter, perfectly cooked fish, wonderful desserts. Professional and friendly service by the wife of the chef who spoke excellent English. Nice spot a reasonable walk... More

We went on a Sunday night, and Le Gout is one of the few restaurants in town that is open on Sundays. The small place up the hill southeast of the port is quaint. The sidewalk seating is available, we opted for the small dining room instead. Of all the places we dined from Lyon to Marseille for 11 days,... More

With a beautiful and comfortable "de hors" on the street, the restaurant present itself as the perfect crossroad between a fine Provençal tradition and the Chef Olivier Rathery’s flair. The cure for every single dish join the kindness of the waiters in a quite happy marriage. All at affordable prices. Special mention goes to wine cellar as well as to... More

If you want the standoffish, snobby Parisian-type experience, this may be for you, but the menu is overpriced and the servers very unkind and inattentive. We had to wait nearly 20 minutes after being seated for even some bread to munch on.... and the place was 3/4 empty. Super unkind and condescending to us internationals from Poland, England, France and... More

Went for lunch after being turned away from a full O'bidul and tried to find a good place near by. This place did not dissapoint! Greeted by one of the owners, a lovely lady, who helped us understand the menu, since it is in french. Had carpaccio and pesto duck for starter which was so good and then calimari and... More

Is it worth writing another review for a restaurant that it is already very well rated in Tripadvisor, it is mentioned in Michelin, etc. ? I'll do it mainly because it not in a part of the city most crowded by visitors, but it is within walking distance of the old port, and it is definitely worth a visit. The... More
