Chez Georges has to be visited on a trip to Lyon. Beautiful decor dating back to 1836, professional service, excellent house beer and a good menu. I had the house specialty "La Choucroute" served on a warmer....simply delicious...highly recommended.

We visited with work and had a set menu because there were 40 plus people. The atmosphere in the back room was not as nice as the main hall. The main hall is magnificent. Neither I or my colleague could eat the food, it just was not to our taste. When passing by other tables who did not have a... More

This is one of the oldest brasserie at Lyon, generally crowded, service is a little bit late, maybe to be a tourist is a handicap. I had wonderful lentil salad you must try, the portion is enough at least for 2 pax.

A friend and I went there for dinner. The place is a hubbub of activity, with wait staff rushing around. It is loud, but that feels ok there. Our meals were good. I had the filet of beef with dauphinois potatoes and haricots verts. Everything was delicious but I did not receive the potatoes until midway through the meal. My... More

My friend who lives in Lyon took me for a meal here and you have to get there early to get a seat as any later you would have to queue to get in. Not surprising as the restaurant was very grand and the food didn't disappoint. The onion souffle for a starter was a huge portion but very tasty... More

Lyons is supposedly " the capital of good cuisine ", with plenty of renowned restaurants. But my point here is not a restaurant, but a large "brasserie", maybe the largest and best known in Lyon, called the 3 Brasserie Georges" or BG for the locals. It's located in the very town center, at the front of Perrache railway station, everyone... More

This restaurant is a "monument" of Lyon as it has been around for decades. A lot of history behind it. The place is a very large room, where the tables are separated by booths - a bit like you would see in a train. You can go there as a couple, as a group of friends or a very large... More

This a classic Lyon restaurant with a wide menu. You might think the menu was too big, but the place is huge, so you would be wrong. On the formal side, but casual attire is well OK. It gets full sometimes so book if going there after 19:00 hrs.
