Decent English style boozer with a nice selection of beers, helpful bar-staff and football on tv ( though not intrusive). I liked this as it didn't suffer from the cliches of English Pubs abroad. Dead handy for good eateries too - just as well as it doesn't do food.

Great place for the apres rugby, especially. But blink and you'll miss it as it's down a series of side streets, not on the main drag. By all means imbibe and indulge in the wonderful French restaurants here....and then head to The Smoker to sink some of the hard stuff in a friendly, fun environment as popular with the locals... I found this pub in a back street on the west side of the River Saone. It is owned by an English family who are more than friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed it so much, that I went back a number of times. Plenty of restaurants close by. Well worth a visit.

If you want a real pub away from home, maybe to catch up on sport then this is it. Friendly atmosphere and staff. We wanted to catch up on the English Premiership football the staff were more then willing to support us.

We went here after finding it on tripadvisor. I was disappointed. This is a dingy dark establishment which was not for me. Rickety tables and chairs. This is not a true reflection of an English pub.The staff hardly made you feel welcome. This was a Sunday night after what was probably a very busy weekend during the rugby finals and... More

A great pub to relax and chill, fun interior decor, plenty of seats but not over crowded, good atmosphere. Music was not too loud and we were able to chat without shouting down each other's ears. Ale was a bit too cold and the toilet could be cleaner.

We had a walk and decided to drink a beer before dinner. It's a nice bar with really good beers from Great Britain. There are no waiters there, it's a self-service place. The prices are average for the center of Lyon. Don't pass by if you love beer from UK.

We called on for drinks on our first night. We were staying further away hence why we only went the once. Good selection of beers, friendly barman and if i lived in Lyon i would likely spend most of my time in there. Shame about all the Nottingham Forest memorabilia.

Great atmosphere if you just want to sit down for a beer. Or 2. Or 3. Or more. The Smoking Dog pub offers about 10 high quality beer brands and it seem to be genuinely britisch including watching Rugby on one of the TV screens. We had a really great evening!
