Today, in France, few places can boast to have entirely home-cooked meals. At lunch, we had gurnard fillets with five or types of vegetables : I was glad to see that fish was served without potatoe chips or rice. And when you eat (home baked ) lemon pie for dessert, you have the real taste, not the standardized industrial stuff... More

A lovely friendly restaurant with excellent quality food well cooked and nicely presented. I had the beef and asked for a different sauce and that was no problem at all they were extremely happy to please. I had the snails as a starter which were done in a non traditional way which was very nice. So pleased my little dog... More

Had a business meal booked for eight people and meal was excellent. Had Fois Gras for starter which was my first time and was very nice, followed by the beef which was one of the best I have had. Great selection of red and white wines and if you prefer dark beer, go for the effligham. Apologies as probably spelt... More

Nice restaurant. Very efficient and helpful staff. The wine list is appealing! The food is good, but could benefit of a zest of craziness and creativity. Nevertheless, you'll get a great meal for a reasonable price.

Lunchtime: there's a 'formule' (set lunch) at 18 euros for main + dessert + coffee with excellent food as it comes from the same kitchen as the nearby and more upscale restaurant. The 'sabayon' was absolutely delicious. However, the coffee is average and 6 euros for a bottle of water is too costly.

An excellent and original meal. For entree I started with st jacques with chorizo whilst and my wife had the Crab cake both of which were delicious and light. Then we both chose the monkfish (Lotte). The artichokes really added to the flavour and this was the best monkfish dish I have had. The chef/proprietor is very much in evidence... More

This restaurant is in the square near the market. It's fairly upmarket and uses only local ingredients. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful encouraging us to have a local delicacy for our starter which was delicious. My main course was monk fish. It was well presented and tasted great. the wine was of good quality. My only complaint was that... More

Greated prophetionally by a waiter, the cheff, Pierre, introduced himselfe and become interested in what we wanted to experience. Corine (probably his wife) and Pierre as well as the waiter, came to the table numerous times to ensure our meals was as we expected (it was better). The place, not easy to fine BUT... all the locals know about it... More

Nicely located in the historic city of Valence - nice interior - very good food quality. The menu system makes the price/quality ratio OK. Rather expensive wines on the list, although the Beaume de Venise for 23 euros was excellent.

To be honest, we did not really like this town. The historic centre is small and has not so much to offer except from a few nice houses. What could be the nicest part of town, the river border, is ruined by the ‘autoroute’. That is one of the reason we decided to chose this restaurant, its location on a... More
