Despite several visits we have always received prompt and very friendly service. The beer is great, whether you go for the light or the dark beer, and the meals are delicious, with a very homemade flavor. The vibe is very laid back, and it has the feeling of a true German local pub. We will definitely visit again.

Last stop before going to bed at Lowenbrau for a beer but couldn't resist the speciality of the day: deer schnitzel. Delicious and went down perfectly well with the dunkel. The lady helping our table was lovely and very friendly. Just wanted to give her a hug. Cant wait to go back there. Next time taking the kids with me.

After spending a full day in museums on a rainy Sunday, we went to Lowenbraukeller to have a late lunch and some drinks. We ordered the pork hock and the Leberkase loaf, and both are very yummy. Unlike the Hofbrauhaus, the tables are designed for smaller groups, so the atmosphere is a little bit less fun. It’s a little bit... More

Visited for supper one rainy night after Oktoberfest had ended and had the best duck to date while in Munchen. Everything we ordered was delicious and the beer never disappoints. The food selection was wide and offered something for all who stopped. The atmosphere inside was a bit more local and formal (the business crowd) then other places we have... More

Firstly i booked online before visiting Munich for Sunday lunch and didn't get a answer or recognition of any sort at all from this establishment.. Anyway on our last day in Munich i decided to give Lowenbrau a second chance and turned up to see if there was any chance of a table for two which didnt seem a problem.... More

This was our initial German restaurant stop before entering our airbnb after 8 hour flight. We were exhausted and went there as it opened at 11 am. Lunch consisted of average German food (pretzels, sausages, etc). Large hall.....empty at 11 am during a Octoberfest. Nice location. Might be better in later hours.

Big beautiful building that caught our eye, 5 of us popped in for some lunch, I wanted a Steak, apparently they had sold out, the time was only 1pm and the place wasn't even half full, I'm guessing the old german waitress, who by the way, who had a face like a welders bench, maybe couldn't understand what I was... Positives: the building and beer garden is superb. It is worth popping in for a look. Negatives: our waitress gave our table of five the impression that she was doing us a favour by serving us; the food was stunningly mediocre (all trad Bavarian fare). I tried the Haxon which is a pork knuckle, cracking, sauerkraut and a dumpling. It... More

If you like German beer then this is a mecca for you. This is the home of Lowenbrau- ie- it is brewed on the site- and there is a great beer garden aswell as cavernous insides if the weather isn't so good. Highly recommend the beer and the German food is exceptional.
