Definitely worth a look. The food was very good, I ordered the tapas. The sole was very good, served over tomatoes and olives. The cheese apple tapas was better than I imagined, Service was good, even though they were very busy. Would highly recommend.

Every time I visit Munich, I find my way to Cafe Luitpold...be it for tea and cake, a lunch or an early dinner. The service is professional and friendly; the selections are fresh, tasty and numerous; the Tagesmenu is also creative and delicious; and the cafe boasts fantastic people-watching.

Despite the service being quite poor to start, the food was amazing and the wine very good. The bottle we originally ordered was not available but the waitress offered a better bottle for the same price. I ordered the leek quiche with truffle dip which I would highly recommend and my friends ordered some very tasty looking cakes. I would... More

This has to be the more glamorous, exquisite cafe I have ever been to! The staff is very professional, the cakes are to die for, and we particularly enjoyed having Ruinart in the sun deck, surrounded by palm trees. Thank you for a delightful afternoon!

Despite the fact that I like this place, on my last visit there I saw a mouse running around the place!! That what I would not expect from the dining place in Munich. Beside that - very expansive and loud all the time.

Dear Alka, thank you for your reference. Due to a bigger construction site in front of the house, we unfortunately had a lot of problems with rodents a few months ago. This was thoroughly and expertly solved. We regret that you have seen a mouse despite the precaution. Due to cold winters and through the always open doors, she probably... More

This used to be one of my favorite "coffee & cake" place in Munich. however, last two visits in mid-Jan and mid-Feb were extremely disappointing. the staff was very unfriendly when taking orders, while service was very slow. all the charm of earlier visits to this once-lovely cafe is gone. i don't think i'm coming back any time soon.

My friend and I were looking for some eggs Benedict because they are not very easy to find in Germany. We stumbled upon Cafe Luitpold and it was fantastic! The service was great and the food was even better. The waiter told us that it is actually the oldest coffee shop in Munich and it's named after King Luitpold. We... More

This restaurant stood out when looking for a place to eat breakfast and happy we went. The eggs benedict are to die for and the side of yogurt and fruit was a generous portion! The waiter was a bit preoccupied but other than that the food was amazing. For breakfast, the earlier the better. We got there at 8:15 and... More

Cafe Luitpold was a suggestion from the staff at our hotel and we were delighted! We had a wonderful meal at exceptionally reasonable prices. The bakery was incredible and we were very fortunate that this was our last day in Munich before flying into NYC for the holidays. I was able to purchase several treats to take home, which everyone... More

We found this place by chance towards the end of a walking tour. We had no idea of the reputation it had. We sat ourselves at the nearest available table by the window. Looking round we could see that this was a bit special....the decor, lighting the waitperson attire. Our waiter was looked busy and I felt that we were... More

Café Luitpold in Munich is an urban coffeehouse, offering a combination of charm, style, cosmopolitan flair on the one hand, and tradition and a passion for good food on the other. Seving a selection of traditional and artfully prepared dishes, there are also delicious coffee specialties and well known chocolates. There are regular social and cultural events held in the Salon M'unique, offering matinee concerts, dance soirees, and talks and discussions with distinguished guests from the world of art, culture and science.
