The food and drinks are not cheap here but you can get reasonable basics. I was a walk in and to be honest if another server was working, it might have been better as the one was stretched. Coffee was ok and the scrambled eggs...More

Very good extensive selection of Breakfast. I was however missing the authenticity, no proper english/danish bacon or english sausages, not sure about the Beans either. Beans on the side an extra 3 €?! A tin doesnt even cost that much. Personally wouldnt go back but...More

Too expensive for what they actually serve. The additional beans are half a coup of coffee for three euros. I will not come back.

We visited this cafe on a cold winter's afternoon but were struck by how hot and stuffy it was! The food is lovely, we had fantastic scones with jam and cream, and the tea was good, but they needed to open a window, at least...More

We didn't come here for breakfast, so i can't tell anything about that, but the teas and the cakes were great. I suggest the spicy teas also the cake with chestnut. There are also lots of tea choices.

Managed to get the last seat (without reserving) for Sunday brunch. The place was heaving - most tables were booked in advance. The decor is traditional English; dark wood panelling, oil paintings etc and the menu is London-themed with dishes named after London landmarks. Having...More

This small restaurant has very friendly and welcoming staff, there is nothing I can fault in this breakfast/lunch restaurant.

We were here before about a year ago for tea. The tea was nice. The ambience is still vintage stylish, and the restaurant has a cosy flair. However... The food we had this time was average at best. The staff were incredibly slow, and far...More

Description
If you find yourself wandering the cobbled streets surrounding Marienplatz - Munich's central square and a main tourist attraction - and maybe, just maybe feeling a little homesick, knock on the door of the Victorian House Restaurant and see what welcome you receive. Modelled on a traditional English home, tourists and Brits alike love the Victorian House Restaurant the comfy upholstered sofas, the imposing portraits in heavy gilded frames, the antiques, the thick floral curtains. The traditional afternoon tea of neat finger sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, sweet strawberry jam and a pot of Earl Grey. Though perhaps a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale or a G&T goes better with lunch or dinner. While there are plenty of identifiably British meals, there's more than just meat and two veg on the men. Surprises such as Mexican chilli noodle bake regularly appear to stir up any threat of stuffiness. The Victorian House Restaurant's interesting wine list is similarly international. But you're always brought back to Blighty, what with the five-star, service bone China dinner set, silver cutlery and crystal glasses. Thankfully, you can leave the stiff upper lip at home.
