The quality of dishes served is certainly outstanding and probably justifying the price level, which truly is on the most upper end when it comes to Bavarian cuisine. Location is beautiful across the opera.

Spatenhaus recommended by our hotel and was excellent for local cuisine. Would definitely go back. Bavarian decor, good service.

Good ambience and service. Food comes in decently sized portions. Highly recommend the crispy pork and sausages accompanied by a pint of beer.

This restaurant had great food and we found outside seating quickly. Although, I do think this may have been due to eating at an off peak lunchtime. The best part of this restaurant was you were in a tourist area but no crowded mobs of...More

So since Spaten, Franziskaner and Löwenbräu are now all part of the same company, stopping here is not going to provide you with a wide range of Spaten beers - just more of what is available at the Ratskeller or Franziskaner beer halls. This is...More

The restaurant is very nice, and despite being in a tourist area the attention is good. The typical Bavarian dishes are the best I've had in Munich. Maybe the prices are somewhat high, but for the attention and quality it's worth it. The truth we...More

The location of the restaurant is great, opposite to historical monumental buildings. We had first a beer at the terrace which was fine in all respects. We then tried dinner and had a table inside. Service was nice and efficient. But the food, supposedly typical...More

No, we have no microwave oven. We are very sorry if any bigger mistakes have been made in the kitchen that day, but we would have heard about it. Most guests like to talk to us if they are not satisfied with anything we serve...More

Yep. Book ASAP because of Oktoberfest. AND - There is no way anyone can promise that the weather will allow outside dining or lunch. Talk to the team or send an Email.... most of them speak english. => Enjoy!

A traditional institution at Max-Joseph-Platz, in perfect harmony with the Bavarian National Theatre, Residence and Palais an der Oper. The Munich citizen goes to Spatenhaus with his family, and he invites his business partners to our restaurant, for special events. On the ground floor our restaurant leaves a down-to-earth impression, the four rooms on the top floor are more elegant. The restaurant stands for exclusive hospitality and exquisite traditional German cuisine. Old Bavarian dishes enrich the menu card on the ground floor. On the top floor the kitchen crew offers its guests a more differentiated menu, taking individual requirements into account. Exquisite fish cuisine, classic dishes of Bavarian and Austrian cuisine supplement each other, thus catering perfectly for all tastes. If the weather is dry, the terrace on the Residenzstrasse fills rapidly and is a truly wonderful location to experience typical Munich culture until late at night.
