We were staying at the nearby Marriott Residence Inn and popped in for a drink one night. We really liked the place so went back the next night for food. So glad we did! We hadn't booked but they squeezed us into a table for two, rather than at the large shared table for non-reservations. Good range of Bavarian dishes... More

Visited during a business meal. Nice atmosphere, but the service was average, meaning that a single lady had to wait on so many tables, she was completely overwhelmed. Food arrived quite quickly, but ordering a second round of beers was torturing! I had a Jagerschnitzel, which wasn't really what I expected. There was a simple fried pork fillet, not a... More

The restaurant is small, but friendly. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is typical German. The restaurant was near our hotel and came highly recommended. We will definitely return on our next visit to Munich.

We eat here every time we are in Munich and have never been disapppointed. It's all local fare and the prices are so reasonable. The portions are very decent, too. The extensive menu is in German but there is an English version available and the welcoming staff have some English. There's an excellent choice of meat dishes, some fish, fine... More

Very casual atmosphere. Lots of local guests. Don't miss the Bavarian-style pork knuckle! The duck leg is great too. Big food portion. Tasty!

Good, inexpensive home made quality dinner and desserts. Family atmosphere among mainly locals with only a few outsiders.

This restaurant is definitely not a tourist trap. The place was full and we were the only tourists in the place. The food was very tasty and the staff spoke enough English to make us feel comfortable. They have English menus available. Will definitely go again.

After a two year absence I revisited Zum Brunnstein, my Munich eating local. However I was a bit disappointed that the food on offer was not as excellent as on my previous visits. While still good and reasonably priced it had lost the "Wow" factor. I can only hope this was due to staff holidays and that when I next... More
